Super 8 Liverpool/ Syracuse Area

Past reviews were good, so, as we were on a budget we went for it. Staff not real friendly, housekeepers stood at front desk (all the time) which shared the very small brkfst room/lobby. Cost went up as it was family weekend at the University. Needs updating and my bath smelled. Rooms basically clean--but very small, no bed bugs. Happy to have a refrig and microwave, ample parking and short ride to kids at Syracuse University. Brkfst was cereal, rolls, muffins, toast and coffee. Denny's down the street. Free USA Today each weekday morning. Probably would search further next trip.

Really the only good thing about the Super 8 was the location. I expected a refridgerator and microwave at least but no such luck. I was so disapopointed I decided to leave 1 day early. Don't think I'll return to that hotel.

3.5 stars if we could give half stars. I stayed at Super 8 for a couple nights while a friend had surgery at nearby St. Joseph's hospital. There are a number of motels grouped where highways 90 and 81 come together, and I chose Super 8 because it was slightly cheaper. I'll confess I wasn't looking forward to my stay, because that part of town, with all its little motels, looked bleak and depressing. Actually, my stay was perfectly fine. The room was clean and comfortable. There are a few restaurants nearby. I slept well. For breakfast there was cereal, juice, doughnuts & muffins, coffee & tea. The walls were a little thin, so at one point I could hear people talking in the room next door, but most midweek travelers are probably on business and the talking stopped at a reasonable hour. The location of the Liverpool Super 8 is very convenient. I would stay there again.

We drive up to the Syracuse/Liverpool area every year at this time for an overnight trip. We've stayed at this Super 8 the last 2 years due to it's proximity to The Carousel Mall, Lights on the Lake and Chili's. Last year I would have easily rated our stay at 4 stars. This year, things seem to have slipped a bit. We found the parking lot to have been hap-hazardly plowed (It snowed 3 days prior). Once we parked and went to check in, we were greeted by 3 seemingly confused and somewhat curt front desk staff. It didn't take long to figure out that English is a SECOND language here, as the staff babbled back and forth in Spanish continually. Even though we had pre-paid our reservation, we were required to leave a deposit via credit card. The room was clean enough and they've updated things here recently. The early morning hours greeted us with slamming doors from the room next door (can't really blame the hotel for that, but still...)

Stayed overnight on business and there was not really anything to complain about. It's not lush and fancy but it was clean and quiet.

We were at a bowling tournament. Hotel was half way between the two lanes. Easy to get around to shopping, food, highways. Rooms were clean, Employees very friendly. Breakfast area very limited in seating and food selections. All carbs - mostly donuts. Ran out of bread and muffins on Sunday. Employees went out to get two loaves of bread to feed hungry hotel stayers. Hotel has 24 hour coffee area.
