Simple, Clean, Comfortable, Convenient! :)
My husband & I needed a room in Lake Placid for 1 night. The Pines Inn was able to accommodate this as where MANY of the local establishments REQUIRE 2 nights minimum (ridiculous). The location is great! You can easily walk to the 'main strip'. We thought the lobby area was welcoming and decor was true to the adirondacks, which we love. Our room had a Queen bed, side tables with lamps, an alarm clock, arm chair, desk with chair, TV, large closet and private bath. The shower was small and it took a few minutes for the water to heat up but there was plenty of it. Our room was clean. There were no noise issues & we slept well. I was sad to go the next day. We didn't get a chance to use the gym/spa area. Our interaction with staff was minimal but those we met with were very friendly. If you are looking for a simple, clean, comfortable & convenient place to stay - this is it. We will be back!!!

Walking distance from main street
The hotel is a well maintained old building, which we found charming, but don't expect the latest and greatest in amenities. The location is a 2 min walk from the main street, but does not have a view of the lake. Jill was very helpful and knowledgeable in guiding us on local tourist attractions.

Amazing service
We had an amazing time at the Pines, the staff was more than accomodating especially we stayed during the hurricane. The hotel did lose power for an hour or so and the staff came to check on us and offered us a glass of wine.

Best bargain in Lake Placid
My stay at The Pines Inn, from 3/14/11 to 3/16/11, was terrific. [...] were great, welcoming hosts. The inn is within walking distance to all of the shops, restaurants, and attractions on Main St. The rooms were clean, and comfortable, and have free WiFi. I will definitely stay here on future visits.

One Night For Early March Skiing
The owners were extremely hospitable. It is a very friendly family atmosphere. I arrived very late and they left the key on the desk for me. The bed was very comfortable, they had a tempur-pedic mattress in the room. The bathroom was nicely renovated. The room was simple and inviting, and I suppose most people would go here to rekindle a forgotten hotel charm. The only downside to the hotel was that it was -5F outside when I arrived and the two small space heaters (because it is an older hotel) could not keep up with frigid temperature. It was a fairly cold night's sleep. Overall, I did enjoy my stay.
