Needs fixing up, could be great
Went with my boyfriend for a night after skiing at Whiteface. There was no hot water that night or the next morning. The room had been cleaned but it still felt dirty. It was also very outdated. Could be a great hotel if they put some work into it; the location is great. Also had a memory foam mattress. Those are the only pluses. Didn't use the kitchen, and judging by the cleanliness of the place I wouldn't have if I needed to. Not worth the $170 price tag. We won't be going back!

The Bachlorette
Unbeatable location for the price!
The true Adirondack experience, all in one hotel! (Minus the Jacuzzi or pool.) My friends and I spent my Bachelorette weekend in Lake Placid. "The Cabin," a bar right in the hotel played great music to dance and drink to. The blazing fire place offered a warm solution to the cold winter chill that set in that weekend. The staff was amazing, anything we needed, they found for us! The food in the downstairs restaurant served delicious and reasonably priced meals! All rooms come comfortably equipt with temperputic memory foam beds, a definite perk after a night of skiing or partying. I would definitely recommended for large groups of friends or a romantic weekend get-away.

Good Location - But...
The location of this hotel was right on the main street in downtown so easy to walk to everything. We rode our motorcycle and there was space just for bikes to park, otherwise parking for cars was limited. The lobby and entrance were nice, but the rooms were really outdated and need to be overhauled considering the price of rooms. View from back of the hotel (rooms with small balconies) is a parking lot and the trash, which wasn't picked up in the 5 days we were there so it was disgusting to look at. Also, a lot of teenagers running around noisily with not much parental supervision (Rugby and Lacrosse teams)

Most restaurants are a little expensive so tough on family budget. A lot of different style restaurants within walking distance.

Short walk from hotel
Depending on what you want to do this hotel is near it all. A close sports bar, dance club, standard pub, nice restaurants, good shopping, and even a winery across the street. Its worth the stay just for the convince of location.

Value for location
Location was great for the price. right in middle of the action. easy walk through downtown. was there for a quick overnight but due to bad incoming weather we had to leave early (4 1/2 hr. drive home). Do plan on returning so we can see the sights but unsure if we'll stay here. The sitting room couch was VERY stained, I didn't even want to put my bag on it.No coffee in room. satilite TV often messing up, and a/c was a bit noisey. Resturant was good for dinner but higher than expected. think we would've done better on Main St.. Overall decor of hotel was unique and fit the area.I would recommend hotel but also tell the things we disliked.

Lovely vacation spot
Hotel was very nice, but older. It was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. The large gathering areas at the lobby level were very good for the larger group we traveled with. Be aware though parking can be a challenge, particularly for the SUVs.

You get what you pay for
I chose this hotel because of its attractive price. I got what I expected in terms of service and room, which was fine but nothing special. We couldn't check in until 3pm which was annoying.

In Hotel
The rooftop bar was pretty fun because it has a good view of the lake and it was packed for the fireworks show on Independence Day.
