Very nice hotel and excellent location for Lake Placid visit
We were stopping in Lake Placid on our trip through Andirondacks and we were happy to select this hotel. Very convenient location for visit in the village and local hiking and skiing, yes they opened the slopes day after Thanksgiving. Clean room and bath, courteous guest attendants, splendid view on the Mirror lake and the mountains around! You can use all amenities of the "parent" HIgh Picks hotel next door. The only confusion was to find the hotel (no clear name seen from the road) and then you need to go/drive across the street to check in. Room furniture upholstery could be replaced.

Good location - older hotel
Great location. We were able to walk to restaurants and local attractions. The free boat rentals on the lake were really nice. The room itself is typical and older. It smelled a little like old smoke, and the bathroom had no fan, but other than that it was just what we were looking for. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated having a mini-fridge.

Great location
Two-night stay. Were very pleased with the location. Beautiful sunrise. Room really needed some help. Curtains stained as well as cloth chairs. Great to be able to walk into town. Dancing Bears has very good breakfast. Toured the Olympic sites. Loved the gondola ride at Whiteface. Passport well worth the price.

Lakeview Motor Inn 10/2-4
Room was very clean and comfortable and indeed provided a very picturesque view of Mirror Lake as the name suggests. Very convenient access to all downtown Lake Placid attractions. Would definitely stay here again.

Early Fall Getaway Oct. 2011
Checked -in 2 hours early, very professional staff. Great Location...steps away to Main St. View from the Balcony is perfect! Heat not working yet in the room, called to check the heater(was 25 degree that night in Lake Placid) maintenance guy came right away and fixed it. Warm and comfy bed, clean linens. Clean bathroom except that bathtub is slow to drain. Notified the staff at check out for the next guest to occupy the room. Will stay there again...would recommend to a friend.

Excellent for the price
The cheapest room I could find in Lake Placid, and it offered clean comfort and an incredible lake view. I was really impressed. Some folks on websites complained that this hotel was bought up by the larger resort across the street (High Peaks Resort) but that only meant that I had to check in at the office across the street from my room (literally, right across the street) and had use of amenities at both hotels. No complaints here!

Treated like a second class citizen
Room was next to a loud air conditioner so i couldn't use the outdoor deck. Breakfast took an hour and a half when I told the manager he said sorry and walked away nice hotel "bad staff"

Overall great experience
Family enjoyed the free kayaks. Beautiful morning view of the lake. Great location on Mirror Lake. The price was great for all of the amenities offered. Will definitely stay here again. Check in location is extremely confusing though.

Great place to stay.
We stayed at the Lakeview Motor Inn portion of the High Peaks Resort... we were a little confused at first as our online reservation did not indicate that Lakeview was a part of the High Peaks resort, and we didn't know where to register or park. The High Peaks resort could remedy this with better sign or some other indications. Once we got checked in, the hotel was great. Great view of the lake, very comfortable room with a balconey and a fridge, and the complimentary kayaks and boats on the lakes were great.

Check out the Simply Gourmet deli for some delicious and unique salads and sandwiches at a good price. They're located on the outskirts of Placid on 86 as you head towards Saranac (just past the mini golf places).
