Nice room, great bathroom, great location

The hotel is centrally located in Lake Placid and part of the reason we picked it is it's dog-friendly. It's mid-range for Lake Placid in price, not at the lowest level but not at the ultra-luxury level either. The bathrooms are contemporary, with huge showers. The rooms are fairly large, have been recently udpdated and most have beautiful views of mountains and Mirror lake. The beds are really comfortable and there's free wifi. The Dancing Bears restaurant is fine.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

We ate dinner at the Bistro taste at Mirror Lake Inn and it was really good food with charming, intimate ambience. The menu is more nouvelle than most Lake Placid restaurants, but it's informal.

Lake Placid dreary

Arrived at 6:00 PM and was given the keys to a horrible first floor room. The room was noisy, dank and right off the commercial first floor stuff. Told them I was ready to leave and they gave me a 3rd floor room that was much better. WIFI didn't work but they fixed it. Lake Placid is nice but the main drag is a drag. Only worth a stay if you can pay up for a lodge outside of town.

refreshing getaway

Overnight getaway. We had a comfortable room overlooking Mirror lake. Had to request more towels and soap from front desk. They were very accommodating and brought them right away. Would stay again

Perfect winter holiday location!

we visited high peak resort this christmas, it was a last minute decision as we were researching somewhere not far from metro NY area and within driving distance. This turned out to be oue of our best vacation ever. The hotel is new, clean, wonderful location, best of all the staff were all very very nice & friendly. We got great recommendation for local restaurants, attractions. if you drive yourself, they have a indoor garage free for guests We had our chrismas dinner in the hotel, which is reasonably priced, and it was delicious. on chrismas day we visited whiteface ski area, about 15 minutes away but very very easy access from the hotel. the hotel is located right on the main street, short walk to lots great shops & restaurants ( we tried brown dogs, which was very nice), and very close to the mirror lake. overall, we strongly recommended this hotel to everyone, and we will definately return

High Peaks

Accomodating front desk staff. Would return because front desk staff were gracious and helpful. Assigned room was over looking air conditioning condensors on a roof. We were relocated (my request) to a room within feet of the Lake...perfect. Paid for cot yet none provided as it is considered a fire hazard. This cot issue and fire hazard was never mentioned by [...] when room was reserved. I asked for cot when reservations were made thru [...]. Interesting to see identical room 2 doors away ( same size and layout had a folding cot). Decided to leave the issue alone. Questioned credibility of staff who claimed fire hazard issue as reason for not providing a cot for my 16 y/o son. We tried to compromise and suggested that they remove the chair and ottoman to accomodate the cot. Still no luck. Oh! well...it is what it is:)))

Fun Hotel High Prices

The hotel staff was very nice, the rooms were clean and the location was great. The only thing I would have liked to see at this hotel, was a little more of the local culture built in to the hotel. There wasn't anything "special" or "unique" about the hotel experience.

We went to the The View Restaurant, and the service and food was very good. They also had a very nice wine selection, and it's in walking distance from the hotel. I would recommend this location for a couples romantic night.

Very Nice!

We travelled with two small children. It was a great experience. Definitely family friendly. Nice staff. Nice guests. Fun pool for kids. Great location, just walk down the stairs to main st. Near everything. Room was a great layout. Pull out sofa was perfect for older child. Will definitely stay here again.

We'll Be Back

This hotel was more than we expected. It is located right on the main street where you can walk to all the shops, restaurants and movie theater. Beautiful view of Mirror Lake. The hotel is beautiful with a twosided fireplace in the lobby with ample, comfortable furniture. The choices of places to eat at the hotel were great also. Our room had a king bed with a huge sofa, flat screen TV and a really ample sized shower. The staff were there if you needed them and very friendly. We are definitely going to stay again. It was a great place to celebrate our 25th anniversary.
