Exactly what we wanted
Brian Nov 17, 2009
All in all, a great hotel experience. The room was very comfortable and very clean, the staff was friendly, even the ... complimentary breakfast was good! We just wanted a basic hotel, and while it wasn't extravagantly luxurious, the hotel definitely exceeded our expectations, for a price that really wasn't much more than the "bargain" hotels in the area. What more can you ask for?

Lake George is a beautiful place, we visited this place in the month of Oct and the nature was at its best, we took a boat tour and that was very good too. If you love nature, I think you are going to like this place.

One of the Best
Phil and Adele Wells Oct 15, 2009
Everything about the hotel itself was top class - the room was spacious, clean, well-appointed and quiet. The location was ... excellent - just outside of Lake George village but within easy driving distance. The road leading to the hotel extended along the "quiet side" of the lake, and so we finally got to see that area. The breakfasts were excellent, the service was efficient and friendly, the water was nice and hot for showers, the wireless service gave us no problems, we used the safe and the refrigerator to good advantage, and everything else was fine.

Very Nice
Jaime Sep 27, 2009
Checkin was very quick, room was spacious (1 king 1 sleeper sofa) Plenty of room for my wife and I. The continental breakfast ... was great, the make your own waffles were delicious. The outside pool was closed due to the time of year, but the indoor was open, empty and clean. The hot tub was relaxing as well. Unfortunetly, the one day it rained was the day they changed the pool filters so it was closed. The workout room was decent, 4 machines but versatile. We would definitely stay here again, for a short weekend, or a week long vacation.

The Hotel was clean, the staff were friendly and the pool was very enjoyable. The hotel is right on the edge of the village ... of Lake George. So it is a very short distance to restaurants, lake cruses entertainment and an outlet mall. We had a very relaxing and fun stay.

Nice Hotel, Friendly Staff
Savvy Traveler Aug 20, 2009
The hotel is still relatively new and in good condition. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast selection was good, including ... pancakes, eggs, sausage, etc. Though the eggs were powdered. Location was great- half a mile walk down a nice wooded path to the lake, and the water park is across the street. It was a great value and a nice place to stay- main drawback is that the pools were very small. Fitness room had a few cardio machines and a Universal machine.

Decent Choice
Picky Gail Aug 13, 2009
I appreciated the fact that it was a non-smoking hotel, but would have preferred that they also banned smokers the entire ... property--especially from the front door area. Even though the hotel was not on the lake and didn't have a view of the lake, I liked that it was in a quieter part of town. Finally, I wish hotels would reserve sections for couples and singles only. Kids were bouncing off the walls next door and running up and down the hall at the crack of dawn!

Don't stay in the room next to the Elevator
Jason Jan 5, 2009
The Wingate Inn was extremely nice. The two rooms(suite) seemed larger than most. The bathroom was spacious and the shower ... head was quite a contraption. The extra room was huge and even had a sofa bed. Our room was right next to the elevator shaft and there seemed to be alot of noise. We also had some issues with the heat(couldn't seem to keep a steady temp.) The pool area was nice, but the pool itself could of been warmer. The location was nice. If you brought your snowmobile you could ride it right out of the parking lot to the gas station around the corner. The breakfast spread was very nice, complete w/ make your own waffles, eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt and the like. Aside from the minor inconveniences we had a pleasant stay and would chose Wingate again when in LG.
