Bait and Switch

This was not a nice experience for my family. I decided to try and save a few dollars and went with the scottish inn based on ... the value. When we got there the place looked nothing like the picture we saw online. The room was filthy and based on the cars in the lot we were one of only two people occupying rooms. Thankfully the manager was nice enough to let us stay only one night instead of the two we originally planned. Please do yourself a favor and pick another place to stay especially if you are traveling with family!!

It is just fine for a small inn. I don't have too much expectations for it. SO when I saw it, I was not disappointed. But the ... price is high compared to its service and condition, maybe because we booked it in the summer weekend. But you can easily walk to the beach or downtown living in this inn.

The location is fine, there is dining, nightlife, beach etc. all within walking distance. However, the bathroom is very ... outdate, old and the floor flooded while showering. No exhast fan and the mirrow was size of a sheet of 8x10 paper, and very dim.

Poor Hotel

The Scottich Inns in Lake George was in need of updating, we stayed in October and had to use a small electric heater, only 2 ... towels for 3 of us. Had to wait to check in the clerk was not on the premises, the bright side was the location in the village.

I was very disappointed with our stay. The building was very old and outdated. The bathroom had a very small crank out ... window that was frosted, but did not have a blind or curtain. The other two windows only had blinds with no curtains. I was amazed that there was such a thing as a paper bath mat. The room had a musty smell. It's been a long time that I have been at a place that still has keys. There were some good restuarants within walking distance.

The Inn is located right at the entrance to Lake Gorge and is a very convenient walk to the beach. The staff is friendly and ... even let us stay and use the room after the check-out time. The rooms are comfortable, no issues with TV, bathroom, towels, basics...

A nice place to sleep

All in all it was a good hotel. Close to the village and all it has to offer. The beds were nice, but pillows were a little ... too soft for my comfort. There is also no TV box so you could not lay in bed and watch TV because you had to change channels by the TV itself as well as volumn. There was a mini fridge and small microwave to make coffee or tea or heat up left over dinner, just don;t forget, a fork, cups and whatever else you need. The owner was helpful with places to eat and things to do. We will stay again.

When in town you must go to the bakery. Their sticky buns are to die for. It is fantastic!!! Make a right out of the hotel and go approximately 2 lights and make the next left. It is across the street from Price Chopper. On the corner is a T-Shirt gift shop and a shop that sells Irish things.

I found the staff and the owner to be very friendly. Best showers I have ever had in a hotel. While sitting outside and ... relaxing the owner came by and just talked to make sure everything was ok with my stay. Building is old but management is starting to upgrade. Not a bad place for the money and close to everything.

The hotel is located close to the lake, dining, shopping centers, minnie ha-ha ship and mountain hike trail. It's walking ... distance and worth staying there.
