Nice location
TravelAddict Sep 14, 2009
Best part about the hotel is its location. Hotel stands next to the lake and they have a small private beach also. Nice pool, ... beautiful views at morning and evenings. Stayed there for the long weekend and came back very happy. Staff was helpful and accommodating. Only thing that I didn't like about the room was the smell(probably of dampness) once you enter the room. Overall it was a nice experience.

Bohagi Sep 7, 2009
The location was nice with a great view of the lake and nice small private beach. It was queit and relaxing... just a little ... away from the crowded down town. I liked the LOCATION very much. But the rooms were not mainted in a very good conditions, we found so many insects climbing on the ceiling.. I think the rooms need major cleaning and pest control.

It was ok - not as bad as I thought
Traveling Mom Aug 18, 2009
This was my first trip to Lake George, so I had no idea what to expect. We booked this hotel because it was cheaper than ... most. only needed one night stay because we were moving to another hotel for Sat. and Sun. to be with our friends. Having read about the "renovations" I was sceptical about staying here. We tried to check in early but were told to come back at 3pm. Not a problem because we met our friends - who were able to check in early (around 11am) at their hotel - the one we moved to on Sat. We lucked out and got a room on the Lake side. Unless you are desperate - don't book on the other side! We went on the back side of the hotel looking for our room - OMG! It was like a cave in a jungle in the outdoor hallway. Not inviting at all. Anyway - I was with my 2 kids and we had a friend's son with us as well. The room was ok - the fridge was very small and the microwave was also small. The bathroom had been redone and was very nice. The A/C was ok - a little noisy, not central. Overall the room was ok - although we only used it to change clothes and sleep. Out side the room was a large patio with tables and chairs, that overlooked the lake. Several people were eating breakfast out there. The beach area is very small. The dock is nice. Not sure if you can fish off it or not. If you have little kids it would not be a bad place. But we did not use the facilities because our other party had 8 people and it would have been too many of us to use the beach area along with the other 10 or so people. Instead we went to the public beach in Lake George. The hotel is about a mile from the Village Shopping in the center of town. (Although I did see some people walking back from the village one evening while I was in my travels.) You will probably have to drive and park somewhere to go to the shops. Over all it was an ok place for one night. But keep in mind we were not actually "staying" at the property. We were in and out. I did notice that people were hanging out on their balconies in the evening, talking etc. I guess it just depends on what room you get and who else is staying there too. The staff was nice. When I could not find my room a young man grabbed my luggage for me and bought it to my room. They also gave me extra towels. Just note you will get charged extra if all the towels are not returned - there is a note in your room stating so. If you are looking for a place to use as a sleeping place while you go off and explore this may not be a bad place. But, if you are looking for a "resort to stay at and relax by the lake and hang by the pool - there are better places. As a last resort it is not bad.

If staying in the area for a few days or longer and you need to shop for groceries - make a list and take the short (about 10 mins.) to the Walmart in Whitehall. Take the interstate to exit 20 - make a left - follow to the end make a right on 9 store about 3 mile on the right. Also use this route to go to the outlets - but make a left onto 9. 9 gets really backed up especially on the weekends. The local grocery stores are very very expensive. Not bad for bread or something - but not good for a big grocery list!!! Also - if renting a boat do so in advance of your trip - if possible -to make sure you have one. They get booked fast. Cheaper to rent out of Boltens Landing than in lake George Village, also may get a better deal on weekdays and for longer rentals. Most place will charge you for the gas you use as well.

Not so great deal
Karen, mother of 2 Aug 9, 2009
The hotel was on too.. much of a hill, my 2yr old fell twice and hit his head on the pavement. We also had a problem on the ... last day of our visit, while driving out of the hotel.. on there driveway.. we blew a tire.. this could have been prevented if they maintained there roads. We had to spend the last of our money and the rest of the trip replacing the tire because it was too big to patch. So... becareful when driving on their roads because they will watch you change a tire, blame the maintance responsibility on the town and send you on your way.

Value Hotel & Great Location!
Lime Aug 2, 2009
After reading reviews, I wasn't sure what to expect. My girlfriend and I were having a "ladies weekend". Our expectations ... were fair--we didn't want to spend a lot of money but wanted to be on the lake and close to all. We got what we wanted. The room was good size. The beds comfortable. Our balcony had a lake view and you could watch all the boaters, parasailing, Minnie Ha-Ha going by, etc. The staff was friendly enough. Sure, the hotel is older and there were some renovations going on while we were there, but nothing too crazy. We spent the one sunny day we had right down on the beach (hint: they do give out beach towels down by the pool for you to bring down to the beach. There are beach lounge chairs down there too). We had dinner one night at Bella Luna-good and friendly staff. The second night at George's Steak-great food and staff. A little strip walking, a little shopping. All in all, Lake George rarely disappoints and Tahoe didn't disappoint either.

This place was great, the room was tidy and smelt clean. The view was fantastic (although you cant see it from the room... ... but i didn't mind) There was however some slight renovations going on... just mostly painting and replacing of this and that. didnt bother us much though. The furniture was a little beat up inside and the bed a little stiff for my liking, it also seemed to be small for a queen.. But aside from that it was really enjoyable
