After camping for 3 rainy, hot days in August, we were looking for a room in Lake George for just a shower and a bed. ... Everyone else's rate was between $149-$209. The rate we got was $104. Perfect. We didnt expect much but we got a king size bed, with plenty of room. Make sure you request a room on the second floor. It was quiet and the bathroom and room itself was very clean. We will return and only look at staying there!

Lake George is just a small drive or you can take the trolley that stops right at the travel lodge. Perfect. Parking is a hazard in Lake George so the trolley really helped out alot.

Older but neat and clean
Sid the kid Aug 24, 2009
The hotel is located just outside of the village so it's away from the crowds but not so far away that it's a chore to get ... into the village. The staff there were very polite and courteous. The Travelodge is an older building but the room was well maintained and had been updated. The room was very comfortable for our purposes. The hotel doesn't have a dining room but it's really not needed because eating establishments are close by.

We just wanted to get away. The town of Lake George is awesome. The Travelodge is located about a mile away from the town so ... technically you can walk into town. The Travelodge is located on a big hill, so there is a better view than other hotels. It's a small cute little place. The rooms are ok. There werent any bugs. There were some cracks in the tub but for the price we paid it was better than we expected. The staff was all foreign so you could hardly talk to them. The continental breakfast was very good. There were alot of choices, but it was only open until 10 am.

Lake George, NY Travelodge

It was your basic motel with outdoor swimming pool. The view of Lake George was nice. I am not sure if there was an ... excercise room but I didn't notice any signs for one. The continental breakfast from 7-10am saved me from spending money eating out for breakfast.

Accepts pets, BUT...
Traveler Jul 13, 2009
Upon check-in we found out that the hotel charges an extra $20/night for each pet, which is not disclosed prior to arrival. ... Even if your pets stay in a crate and do not leave any evidence of ever being in the room, you are still charged the additional "cleaning fee" for them. This hotel obviously does not use the pet funds collected for any sort of cleaning - the mold in the bathroom was atrocious! If you have allergies, be sure to bring your meds because you'll need them. On the positive, most of the staff was friendly and the hotel location was convenient to the highway. Lake George is a very nice area to visit in the summer.

The staff was great and went out of their way to make the trip enjoyable. A laundry facility would have been nice but there ... was one 1/2 mile away. The room was clean and nice. Did not get a chance to use the outdoor pool because of the weather but it looked nice. Several of the rooms had a great view, other, well there is always the TV.

We had a great time in Lake George. Our stay at the NY Travelodge was comfortable and we had a nice view of the lake. The ... staff were very helpful and offered to make us a fresh pot of coffe after a long day of sight seeing. The cruise on the lake is a must do. Also Grandma's Back Porch Restaurant,l ocated nearby was a great place to eat and enjoy the lake.

The Travelodge motel was close to all area attractions in Lake George. The staff at the front desk were frienldy and ... everything you needed was provided. There was a pool and small playground on site, and the view was wonderful. Although this was an older motel, we were not in the room much, and it was sufficient to our needs.

Both family and pet friendly
Blanche Jul 30, 2008
All of the Travel Lodge rooms provided a special area to hang clothes and provided ample hangers. It was well designed and ... also provided a space out side of the room area for open suitcases. I liked the fact that the stall shower was larger than required and the bathroom was large enough so that it could be used by two people at once. Such as two children and a parent. The Travel Lodge has mostly English speaking personel and the owners were very nice and helpful to the guests. The continenal breakfast was ample and provided a wide variety of food for children and adults. They also provided coffee and all types of tea at the office 24/7. They also offered pet rooms that were not the rooms with views but were fine for those traveling with pets. I would stay there again and would take my pets. They do charge extra for pets but all those traveling with pets were happy with the arrangements. There are very few rooms with a view of the lake but those rooms are exceptional.

The staff was very friendly, but for the money the room could have been cleaner, the bathroom had mold in the shower stall, ... and dirt on the wall for the 3 days we were there. The view was fantastic though. Also, the continental breakfast offered was closed one day and the next was gone by 9:00 am.

Accomodating staff
Julie Jul 28, 2007
Due to being in a wedding and from being out of town, I had to check-in early at the hotel to get ready. The staff ... (especially when I explained the situation) agreed to have the room cleaned first so that it would be ready for my arrival. I kept my fingers crossed and they did have it ready. I really appreciated that service!
