I only really used this hotel to sleep. The room was very clean and so was the bathroom. It was generally quiet and ... peaceful. The hallways smelled bad but the rooms were fine. I wish there was a remote control for the TV and definitely a refrigerator.

Disappointed Oct 1, 2009
Granted the price was very modest and perhaps I should not expect much. People were friendly, bathroom was clean, location ... is ok in Queens Village, but I opened the bed and the sheets did not look fresh to me, they were crumpled, both top and bottom sheet were ripped, fabric was flimsy, and they smelled, even though this was not a smoking room. There was no top drawer in the dresser. Walls had knicks in places - are there fights taking place here? Not encouraging for a female traveling alone. Parking lot had sign that HoJo did not take responsibility for the cars, - I just felt uncomfortable, having heard of motels that are rented by the hour. Was this one of them? I had paid for the night, but left after 3 hours and slept on a friend's sofa.

My 2-day trip to NY
Marylander Sep 8, 2009
We went to NY for US Open Tennis and wanted a hotel room that's within my budget, clean, close to Auther Ashe Stadium and ... close to Flushing Chinatown. This hotel is 4 min to Flushing Chinatown, and 15 min. to the stadium by car. Room is clean and nice. I'm very satisfied. If the people next door didn't smoke, it would be perfect.

Nice stay at HoJo Queens Village
Vladimir D. Sep 4, 2009
Howard Johnson Inn Queens Village was quite all right. It was clean, staff was friendly. Breakfast was rather symbolic but ... that is what you expect in hotels of this sort. There is a WiFi in the rooms and it works. The Long Island Railroad's station - Queens Village - one block away with one train per hour and 30 minutes to Penn Station (change at Jamayca). Then there is a bus stop next to hotel's door which brings you to the subway station (takes about 20 minutes to get there and it is an F train - another 40 munutes to Manhattan). There are few fast food places around and nice Dominican cafe called Patio across the street.

Good value for the money
Value seeker Aug 18, 2009
I really liked this hotel's price and amenities. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the hallways were well lit and ... smelled good. Not a lot of special luxuries but again for the price I was very happy, plus the Long Island railroad Station is less than a block away. I actually walked within 5 minutes to the platform and was in the city in under half an hour. My only complaint is that the parking lot was dark and cramped and not easy to drive in and out of. Plus there is no back entrance from the parking lot into the Hotel, so if you have to make more than one trip to your car it's going to be a long walk from the back of the hotel to the front door. I guess you should unload your car before you park but be warned the driveway at the entrance is very narrow and if you stop there you risk blocking other drivers and possibly being nicked by an impatient car attempting to squeeze by. Overall I was very satisfied with my stay and plan to return again...provided the price is relatively the same (between $69 and $99)

If you want to visit Penn Station and Fashion Avenue leave your car at the hotel and take the LIRR into the city. It's just a short walk from the hotel and it takes about 30 minutes to get into the city.
