Hotel is clean but dated. The front desk person appeared too busy to take the time to answer questions, we had to walk down ... there to get the answers we needed. Shuttle says it begins to run at 5:00am on website but we were told otherwise (5:45). Ultimately we got picked up at 5:00.

Very comfortable overall. Towels could have been cleaner and slippers should be provided in bathroom. Good storage ... availability and iron was very useful. very friendly staff but room service should make sure no one is in the room before entering.

AFTER BOOKING A HOME OFFICE ROOM WITH A QUEEN SIZED BED THRU ORBITZ.COM I RECEIVED A SMALL ROOM ON THE FIRST FLOOR WITH A ... DOUBLE BED. WHEN ASKED WHY I WAS TOLD THAT THAT'S ALL THEY HAD AT THE TIME.

I missed a flight at JFK and had to stay over for an evening. The orbitz fella found this was the absolute cheapest spot near ... the airport, and it was. The driver was courteous and prompt at picking me up, and gave me all the information I needed about food deliveries, convenience stores and so on. When we arrived it was late at night and I had nothing with me at all. The guy behind the counter was friendly and helpful. He didn't require me to do anything, just give him my ID... there wasn't a billion forms to sign, or even the reservation number I had gotten. I hadn't slept for about a day and kept forgetting things that I needed. A razor, another bar of soap, a sewing kit, matches... and never once did he seem frustrated or rude... Not what I expected at all in Jamaica.. (really its just a part of Queens) The bed was much like any other, the heater worked great and there was plenty of ice. I had some cash on me, as well as a passport and other valuables, and to my great surprise there was a little safe next to the bed, you entered a code, it opened up, you closed it, and it would only open for the code you entered... an excellent service, totally making up for the lack of mini-bar. The only negative thing I noticed was when leaving the lobby to get to my room, I had to go down a small set of stairs, through the common dining area, down a hallway and around a corner to get an elevator to the second floor. Other than that they were very helpful and really made my night in new york city a restful one in preparation for the next leg of my trip to St. Petersburg, Russia.

Everything went well with my stay @ the hotel only thing that I had a problem with was looking for PARKING, they should make ... a bigger parking lot or something to accomodate customers vehicle safety.

We choose the Howard Johnson's Jaimaca because of the location and price. We were very pleased with our choice. We were ... greeted by friendly staff, and check in was fast and very efficient. We were also given available food choices if we needed it. The room itself was small but very clean. Wireless service was free and a continental breakfast provided. Ther next morning we had some time before our flight and the desk clerk set us up with a driver to take us on a tour. Very helpfull and friendly staff. We would definately recommend this hotel.

This Hotel was not comfortable because it felt very run down. The area in which it was located was infested with thugs. ... The security gaurd told me not to walk across the street to the Minute Mart, rather to tell him what I wanted and he would go over and get it for me. The sounds of sirens was predominant throughout the our stay. After the first night we actually changed Hotels. That is how uncomfortable that nieghborhood was.

The Howard Johnson Express Inn Jamaica JFK Airport NY, JAMAICA, NY, was not located as close to the airport as I had thought ... nor was it of the quality I was expecting. When my daughter and I arrived, no one was available to help us with our luggage. Once we had finally gotten to our room it was so small and very, very hot. The room airconditioner did work but there was not any cool air in the halls. There was not much room to place our luggage and move around. My daughter or I would have to sit on the bed so the other one could get to the other side. There was no place to have dinner at the hotel. I was not comfortable enough with the area to go out and see if there was any place close to us to eat, especially after dark. I did look around as we arrived and did not see anything. The continental breakfast did not have a lot of choices. I thought the hotel would have something to identify the local area and what it had to offer. They only had a menu card for a delivery service. There was not even a phone book available. There was not any internet services available in the room either. You had to go out to the public area to use their service. The bedcover was dirty, and the room smelled of stale smoke. No, I have to say in the thiry some years of traveling around the world staying in various accomodations this is the worst place I have stayed.
