Howard Johnson Inn Jamaica JFK Airport NY

Everything went well with my stay @ the hotel only thing that I had a problem with was looking for PARKING, they should make a bigger parking lot or something to accomodate customers vehicle safety.

We choose the Howard Johnson's Jaimaca because of the location and price. We were very pleased with our choice. We were greeted by friendly staff, and check in was fast and very efficient. We were also given available food choices if we needed it. The room itself was small but very clean. Wireless service was free and a continental breakfast provided. Ther next morning we had some time before our flight and the desk clerk set us up with a driver to take us on a tour. Very helpfull and friendly staff. We would definately recommend this hotel.

My stay was very brief. Slept and ran. It would be unfair to say much.

This Hotel was not comfortable because it felt very run down. The area in which it was located was infested with thugs. The security gaurd told me not to walk across the street to the Minute Mart, rather to tell him what I wanted and he would go over and get it for me. The sounds of sirens was predominant throughout the our stay. After the first night we actually changed Hotels. That is how uncomfortable that nieghborhood was.

The Howard Johnson Express Inn Jamaica JFK Airport NY, JAMAICA, NY, was not located as close to the airport as I had thought nor was it of the quality I was expecting. When my daughter and I arrived, no one was available to help us with our luggage. Once we had finally gotten to our room it was so small and very, very hot. The room airconditioner did work but there was not any cool air in the halls. There was not much room to place our luggage and move around. My daughter or I would have to sit on the bed so the other one could get to the other side. There was no place to have dinner at the hotel. I was not comfortable enough with the area to go out and see if there was any place close to us to eat, especially after dark. I did look around as we arrived and did not see anything. The continental breakfast did not have a lot of choices. I thought the hotel would have something to identify the local area and what it had to offer. They only had a menu card for a delivery service. There was not even a phone book available. There was not any internet services available in the room either. You had to go out to the public area to use their service. The bedcover was dirty, and the room smelled of stale smoke. No, I have to say in the thiry some years of traveling around the world staying in various accomodations this is the worst place I have stayed.

This hotel was in a terrible neighborhood. The room itself was set below ground with window access from the parking lot. I did not feel safe there. We had to lug our suitcases down a flight of stairs, passing through the dining area. The dining area looked like prison cafeteria. The room itself was fairly clean and somewhat satisfactory. But there were too many negatives for me to ever stay here again let alone recommend it.

'I like the idea of a free shuttle to the airport since I was not familiar with the area.

It takes about 90 minutes to get to Manhatten (with the bus and subway). The location is not the best if you want to see the city but it is close to JFK airport (10 minutes with the shuttle). Tthe price is fair. If you are willing to invest some time for the public transportation it is a good hotel to stay for a resonable price.

Hotel pas très propre, si vous ne restez qu'une nuit vous êtes au sous sol, avec une petite fenêtre qui donne sur le dessous des voitures du parking. PDJ correct, shuttle gratuit dans les deux sens. A deux pas de l'aeroport.
