Just a Place To Sleep

Two staff members at Front Desk tried to help me when my phone and laptop could not access their WiFi. However, I could not get it to work. Appeared that hotel was nearly empty. I think it would be an OK choice if someone had something to attend at University at Buffalo North Campus.

Needs renovation

The hotel looks not quite clean, especially the corridors and the hall. It seemed more like an abandoned place at the first sight. The staff were not warm. Even for a 3-start hotel, I would expect more.

Awesome bed

Found this hotel while browsing all hotels in the area. It was not that easy to find according to GPS but we did find a more direct route ourselves. We got the last available room which was accessible. Beds were awesome. Breakfast is the usual complimentary type. The hotel could use a little bit of a facelift but nothing major, No complaints to mention. The price was very reasonable for August compared to most hotels in the area.

Great price but nothing too special.

Check in was fine, exterior was pretty nice, easy enough to find. Everything about the room we were in was completely up to par with everything that's required to enjoy a single night in a hotel. There was a lacking on the feeling of warmth. It was a good stay and I'd be okay with staying the next time I'm in town, provided that I couldn't get a room in a comparable hotel closer to the attractions of the area. I know it's not meant to be a Falls resort or anything so I'm just basing it on the other close local happenings we were able to find. I'd recommend it as a good option if you're being budget conscious.

Nothing to brag about

This hotel is quite dated, but mostly clean. The free breakfast was very good, however it lacks protein options. the more mature gentlemen on the night staff was very very friendly. Placed around Amherst College and other area colleges, it was a neat location. And an easy drive to Niagara Falls

could use updating

The hotel is close to SUNY Buffalo, so the location could be convenient if you need to be in that area. The hotel itself looks and feels old and dated. The exterior could use some work and the interior felt very old and dated. The drapes, carpets, etc. all looked old and very worn. Basically, the hotel needs to be completely updated. A good illustration is the exercise room (though I was probably the only person who used it while I was there). The exercise bike was a paddle wheel bike that was not only broken but so old it might have been made when I was born (about 40 years ago). The owners really should invest some money in the hotel. Despite it being old, it was clean and the staff were reasonably helpful, though not all that kind. However, the restaurant, The Embers, kind of seemed like a completely different location. It was also a little dated, but seemed like it had been updated more recently. The wait staff were great and the food was really good. Plus, the view was very nice. So, the restaurant is good. (The continental breakfast was pretty light with minimal options.) Overall, don't expect a nice, recently updated, super clean hotel. This place needs some work.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The restaurant is good. They have a light fare menu, but the options on it aren't all that light. If you get the buffalo chips, that really is enough calories for an entire meal; ditto the buffalo chicken salad.
