Smaller than it looks
Hotel itself was exactly what we thought it would be; just a place to sleep. The room, however was even smaller than it appears in the pictures. Smaller than any motel room we've ever been in. We were just there to sleep so we wouldn't have to travel home after a concert at the Barclays Center. Was able to walk to the concert from the hotel. Staff could have been a little friendlier, but for what we paid, I can't complain.

Good for Sleeping
The room was tiny, literally it fit the bed and a small space to walk around it. It has a simple and modern look, but the details were shoddy. ex - paint on the light switch plate and a very similar, but noticably different paint color was used for touch up. But if you want a place that is in a good area of Brooklyn, close to the subway, inexpensive for the area and clean this hotel works. Staff was also very nice.

Short walk from hotel
Smith Street in Carrol Gardens is a great place to eat and drink. I used to live in the area and almost all the restaurants on Smith or Clinton are wonderful. My favorite for brunch was the Cuban place. It's about a 15 minute walk. It's best to walk down Union, but you should not do the walk after dark. Another great place for food and drink is 5th Avenue. which is only one block from the hotel, but I prefer Smith Street.

Euro Minimalism
Travelers should be wary this newish hotel is very minimal, very gray and austere. No frills what so ever, one over head light in the bathroom and bedroom....no wall plugs for rechargeables, in our room the flat screen was on the wall beside the bed making it almost useless since there were no chairs...it is more appropriate to describe this as a cubicle with a bed not a room, was very cold had to ask for a blanker and portable heater. Close by breakfast deal is good and subway access very good. Good for just sleep and shower!

Unbelievable
When we arrived at this hotel, we had no idea what a big surprise it would turn out to be. It is in the middle of an industrial district. The bed took up most of the room; there was barely room to maneuver around it. The bathroom was nearly as large as the room itself. Our sleep was interrupted by noise in the halls and outside. We are amazed that this hotel had the nerve to charge what it did for a 7' x 7' room whose amenities consist of a shower, a folding chair, a hair dryer, a TV screen and a heat/cooling unit that clicked on every time the temperature changed by one degree. There wasn't even a box of tissues, and only one bottle of water. Top shelf of the mini closet/cabinet was dusty, too. The only pluses were hot water (eventually) and an overnight parking space on the block.

Cozy
I booked a queen sized suite, but it turns out to be a full size bed in a really small room... Everything was quiet, staff was nice. Close to transportation. I would definitely stay here for the convenience.

Extended weekend getaway
I stayed at this hotel for a music festival in Brooklyn that was about a mile from the hotel. The hotel is in a great location. There are plenty of places to walk to and the subway line to Manhattan is just a few blocks away. There's even a cab station a few blocks away that you can call yourself and they can come pick you up. They have a partnership with the Station Cafe, where you can have free breakfast during a certain time period. The restaurant was great and the staff was nice. The hotel staff was pretty nice as well. It's very small, but there is always someone at the front desk. 24hrs. The hotel was clean and very minimalistic, but I rented a queen sized bed and I was sharing the room with another person. It's very awkward if you have the side of the bed that's next to the wall, because the A/C unit is against the wall as well. The bathroom is quite large and in my opinion, they could have taken space from the bathroom to have more walking space in the bedroom. It's possibly the smallest room I've ever been in. However, I'd stay there again, but I'd probably get the two twin size beds instead if I'm sharing with someone else. But, I was really planning to be outside of the hotel for the most part anyway, so in a way the room being small wasn't a big issue. But if you're an average sized person it may be uncomfortable as far as space. But the bed/mattress itself was very comfortable. No issues with bugs/pests. The towels are nice and thick and there was no issue with noise from the other guests. I'm from Texas and I'd rather have more space, but overall I really like this hotel and next time I come to NYC (Brooklyn specifically) I'll pick this hotel.

Did not honor our pre-paid reservation
When we arrived to check in, they told us there was "a problem with the room" and called a few other nearby places to ask them to take us. Even though we had pre-paid our reservation, they forced us to pay for the new place (at twice the rate!) as well, and indicated that they had no further responsibilities regarding our arrangements. Multiple phone calls later, we at least got our refund from them, although they remain unwilling to pay the difference between our reservation with them and the cost of the new hotel they sent us to that night. Incredibly frustrating.

THE FREE BREAKFAST AT THE DINER MADE UP FOR THE SMALL TIGHT HOTEL ROOM. HOWEVER, I'M GLAD IT WAS FREE BECAUSE WE ALSO ATE THERE FOR DINNER AND THE PRICES WERE HIGH.
