never again!

I checked in and had to pay $70 more than expected. They told me to wait while they cleaned my room. Cleaning consisted of running around and spraying air fresher everywhere. When I entered the room I could barely breath! The first thing I noticed was the stack of broken T. Vs. and poor room decor. When I sat on the bed it sounded like a diaper, and I thought it was an air mattress. The staff was rude and barely spoke English. I didn’t trust them not to steal from me. The room key deactivated about three times a day so I had to keep on reactivating it at the front desk every time I left my room. The location was shady and it took about an hour to get to Manhattan on the subway. I wanted to leave immediately, but it was New Years weekend so most hotels were booked. It RUINED my trip!!!!

Budget Budget Budget

Having spent a week looking for affordable accommodations in the NYC area, Red Carpet Inn gave me exactly what I expected. No, the hotel is not in the "tourist" area #Brooklyn#, but we found getting to those areas was very simple. Cross the street and get on the "L" train - and then switch to the "E" - to arrive close to all the tourist areas. #20 minutes# We purchased train tickets for $14 each, for three days #going and coming back x's 3# Yes, we did pay $35 #one way# to get to and from La Guardia, but that was the only time we paid for a taxi. The hotel referred us to a private taxi service - a large SUV, that was very efficient. Hotel staff were expremely helpful with getting us to our various daily events, and "free" breakfast - bagels/donuts and coffee, saved us even more money. Not a bad deal.

Bklyn Traveler

The hotel was located next to the train station so it was convenient. However the environment was lacking as there was a gas station right next door and not too many restaurant options. The check-in was kind of cumbersome, and there was your standard room and not much else. This hotel is just to put you bags down and sleep. The only pro would be its close proximity to the train, and a room being affordable for the night.

bad timing

I happened to be in NYC in the aftermath of hurricane Sandy. The only real reason to stay here is the proximity to the subway. Unfortunately, the Subway (L line) was closed do to the storm(my entire stay of 5 days) I know this is not the hotel's fault, but this is the only real reason to stay here. Staff was helpful, WIFI was good.

Ballin on a Budget

I was in town for my birthday. I wanted to get the most bang for my buck, so I chose the Red Roof Inn. Well, when i first walked into the room i noticed that the smoke detector was missing. Other than that, the room was clean and everything worked. The staff was friendly and helpful. The best part about the place, was that it was right across the street from the subway. There was also shopping and good places to eat close by. It was a 20-25 min ride into Manhattan. I would definately stay there again
