Pointe Plaza Hotel

The description of the "strategic location in the heart of Williamsburg" makes it sound as if the hotel is convenient to W-burg's trendy restaurant and night-life scene. But that's actually a half hour walk away (and not a particularly pleasant one). You'll be challenged to find so much as a cup of coffee or pack of gum within ten minutes of the hotel, which is in the middle of a residential area. As far as the promised complementary breakfast, there was no sign (or mention) of it the day I was there. If they were serving breakfast somewhere (where?), it would have been nice for the front desk staff to mention that during check in. I would have appreciated a cup of coffee before checking out. The rooms were, however, large, clean, and comfortable and the price was a good value. Unusual amenities included separate sinks for meat and dairy and a scheitel stand.

Went to stay for the 5 Borough Bike Ride - so we needed a late check out, which the front desk granted on Satruday, but the Sunday person did not know about, but went along with it. Sunday person also did not know the combination for the lock for the area where my car was stored (nor did he know who to call), so we could not get things out Sunday morning. The hotel is in the middle of a community of Orthodox Jews, so nothing in the area was opened Friday night or Saturday. As reported by others, we had a kitchenette, but no utensils or dishes, etc. Big room, new, smelled new. 1 mile to subway; we're in good shape so was not an issue, but no cabs in the area on Friday night or Saturday.

This was our first visit to New York and wanted a hotel within budget for a short break but close to Manhattan for sight seeing. We stayed at the The Pointe Plaza for four nights. The staff were helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, fresh and spacious. The decor was modern and the beds really comfy. A continental breakfast is offered and there was always plenty to eat including hot & cold drinks. Only issue was due to the limited size of the dining area you may not get a table during busy periods so best to avoid peak hours. Breakfast is open from 6-10am so there is plenty of time. Although the location is ordinary, it felt safe walking the streets. The subway (Flushing Ave) is only a 10 minute walk from the hotel. From here you can catch a train to Manhattan. Overall, we were really impressed with the hotel and it is great value for money.

The hotel was very luxurious and the price was very economical. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was very attentive to any need.This location was a short walk from a subway stop.

The location was less than 2 miles from where I needed to get to. The hotel was a surprise with the location and the amount I paid for the economy room. . Area is generally fiendly enough to make one feel comfortable overall. Car service they use is also fast to arrive-courteous and reasonably priced.

Excellent hotel in easy reach of central Manhattan. You can take the subway from flushing avenue to court square then another a few stops to the rockafeller centre. Buy an unlimited 7 day pass for $29 as it will cost $2.25 a ride otherwise. The sub is an 8 minute walk through a very safe Jewish area from the hotel. The hotel does a free taxi to times square each morning at 9.30, just book the day before to secure a place. It's free too!! The hotel is great, very clean and the staff are fantastic. They offer a free continental breakfast too from 6am to 10am which was great. Petra in the breakfast room is always happy to help. Davey and the team on reception are brilliant. Can't do enough for you. I would recommend this hotel as you see so much more of new York by staying here, the service is excellent and it is brilliant value for money.

Wir buchten eine double bed suite mit Kochgelegenheit. Reichlich Platz,Zimmerservice gut. Auch Personal sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Frühstücksraum klein, doch konnte man sein Frühstück per Tablett aufs Zimmer nehmen, eine gute Variante. Gewöhnungsbedürftig : Geschirr/Besteck alles Plastik. Küche mit Wasserkocher und grossem Kühlschrank, doch leider kein Geschirr und sonstige Küchenwerkzeuge in dem gut ausgestattetem Mobiliar. Da wir nicht unbedingt kochen wollten, konnten wir uns mit dem Frühstücks-Utensilien gut behelfen. Anreise zum Timesquare per ÖPNV: 45', eingeschlossen 12 ' Fussweg zur Subway-Station . Für NYC-Verhältnisse angesichts des Hotelpreises akzeptabel.
