Awesome!!
Hospitality from the staff was immaculate. Maria, Fernando, Sapphire I wish I could remember the entire staff names where all nice everyone greeted me with a friendly smile and hello. Omar the GM was also not to busy to say hi. Room was clean. Breakfast was delightful. My jaw was dropped by the service considering I am a Brooklyn native. I must say I was impressed and I now have a place to stay when I go home.

AWESOME! Stay and service!
My husband and I booked this hotel so we could attend a conference in Brooklyn. It was both of our first time to NY and this hotel, despite other reviews was a pleasant surprise. We arrived early from the airport and the hotel gladly held onto our bags until the later check-in time so we could walk around and check out the city. The location is extremely close to many shops and restaurants. We walked everywhere. The only time we used a cab was to and from the hotel to the airport. We stayed in a King room and found it extremely clean and comfortable. Hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast offers a variety of foods from omelets and bacon to pancakes and donuts, etc. I am very pleased and we WILL be staying there again! Thank you Holiday Inn Butler Street for your hospitality!

Needs Work!
The reception staff (Manny, Brian) were warm, welcoming, and wonderful. Helped me change my room. The included breakfast offered a fairly wide array of options which were enjoyable and basically healthy. The room I was given was in the basement level (C); the hallway smelled close to something like cat-urine.The room was dark since it was in the basement with a small window near the top of the wall with not access to a view. The first room had a strong moldy smell in the bathroom; I left the bathroom door open to help increase air circulation. Upon immediate request, I was moved to the next day; slightly better, less of a smell but it was clear that vacuuming was not a part of the daily housekeeping routine. The hotel has potential but work needs to be done with that lower level to make it more comfortable.

If you're adventurous, cheap and tolerant...
I would only recommend to the more adventurous, looking to save money in a very expensive hotel market, and more than a little tolerant of other guests. Call ahead and make sure you don't get stuck on the smoking floor, unless the smokiest of what bars used to be is of interest to you. The location leaves a lot to be desired. The rooms are clean, but very small. Overall, considering where you are, it is not a bad buy and with a little planning you can do quite well, or much worse.

Noisy, Small Rooms, Excellent Breakfast
This hotel was not in the best area. And we were woken up around 1am to lots of noise from the hallway - slamming doors, loud voices, etc. Room was very tiny. This said, the continental breakfast was excellent! Scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon, yogurt, cereal, hard boiled eggs, pancakes, coffee, juice, cereal...the list goes on. Overall, overpriced for what you got, but it was last minute planning for us. Plenty of free parking right on the street outside the hotel. Hope this helps!

Beware the hidden pet fee
This hotel permits pets, but our rez didn't show the $100 pet fee. Yikes. We negotiated with the manager and got it waived, but that was generous on his part. Beware, beware, beware! As for the room and hotel, we got a basement "king," which as a room barely big enough to hold the bed and a "window" that was at the same level as the cars parked in front of the hotel. As to location, it's near cool things in Brooklyn...but not in a very attractive location, semi-industrial, semi-spooky.

Convenient location
Hotel staff very friendly. Rooms small, but comfortable. Not near any restaurants, but this looks to be an up and coming area. Several buildings under construction nearby.
