easy access
Aside from being a very cramped location and having small rooms, it is a good location. No real issues but I am from Brooklyn so am very comfortable with the surroundings. I would recommend that folks staying here venture out to 5th ave for some great food rather then eat that dominoes pizza on the corner..

Cheap; good location
Stayed here Oct 2011 for the second time. This is NOT a fancy place. But the beds are comfortable, the rooms clean and a little cramped, staff helpful. Very inexpensive by NYC standards and the location has a lot going for it: in the safe, thriving ethnic (mainly Mexican) Sunset Park neighborhood AND (the best bit) much more convenient to Manhattan than the map shows. It's a short three blocks to the D-N-R subway lines. D & N are both express trains, so you're in lower Manhattan in two stops and Penn Station in 25 minutes or so.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
Head east one block: Sunset Perk has great coffee and panini about 30 yards from the hotel; 24-hour old-fashioned diner on the corner; Mexican, Chinese and Italian restaurants-delis up and down the street from there.

Only if you're broke and desperate
This hotel is located on a side street in a seedy neighborhood with nothing at all around it. I only ended up here because it was included in some flight+hotel package, which I will never do again. The big attraction is that you can walk to a McDonald's *and* a Dominoes Pizza. Three blocks gets you to the R line of the subway, which is as lousy as the neighborhood around 36th street. This hotel severely tainted my experience of Brooklyn, which is coming alive in other parts of the city - don't ruin your visit by staying here.

Days Inn Brooklyn
When we arrived I didn't think we could get on the street. There was flooding underground and the basement of the hotel was flooded out. Fortunately our room was on the third floor. BUT the elevator was out, no hot water the first night AND no internet ALL weekend. I know it was beyond their control but I was disappointed I only got a $45 discount! I knew the room was going to be small, but it was REALLY small.

A Great place to stay
Yep the room was small and it was not a 5 star hotel. But it was clean the staff was pleasant and the free breakfast is what I expected it to be. We loved staying out of Manhattan and visiting all the little corner stores that were within walking distance of the hotel. The Subway was only 3 blocks away and it made us feel like real Brooklyn residents to ride it to and from Manhattan every day. We were within driving distance of the Brooklyn Tabernacle which was AWESOME!!! The neighborhood at first seemed a little scary coming from a small town in Ohio but we quickly found it to be charming and never once felt afraid to walk down the street no matter what time of day! We will come back and we will stay in Brooklyn! The hotel was fine for us as we were traveling with a small budget. No bed bugs and clean. I would go back

Tiny rooms but friendly
Big breakfasts of bagels, doughnuts, cereal, apples, and sometimes oranges and hard boiled eggs. Tiny rooms, barely room to walk around the beds. Good location near express subway line D.

Decent room
Reasonable price; walking distance to the subway. Easy commute to the city although a long one. Decent room. Wireless reception is not very good. Had a cigar-burn on the quilt.

Simple and nice
It was OK for the price. I appreciated to stay in very clean place. Carrefull, it could be crowded during the rush hour for breakfast! The bad thing was the noise. The walls are not really thick so we could hear what was going on in the hall.
