adequate
I arrived at night to a dark and empty parking lot. Inside staff was pleasant but twice my room key did not work. The front staff did not know how to direct me to my room, One elevator was out of order and the stairs smelled bad like a NYC subway. The hallways were like a maze and very seedy looking. BUT the room was nice, clean, comfortable and adequate. The continental breakfast was meager and in an ugly room.

OK for one night, not a full week
This hotel is conveniently located just across the river from downtown and is a cheaper alternative to the nearby Holiday Inn. However, the service provided by the desk staff (many are students) is uneven. Parts of the hotel are not cleaned regularly (front door handles, AC Unit and baseboards in breakfast room are filthy, halls in non-smoking wing reek of cigarettes. Rooms are small but clean and have microwave oven, clothes iron and board and good TV. Plenty of parking in secure lot.

Short drive from hotel
For cheap and delicious hot breakfast, drive less than 1 mile west on Main St. to Danny's Diner (not Denny's) on left side of street.

Not the Hilton but alright
Stayed here for one night only and got the job done. The front desk person was super talkative which was a little surprising at first but actually kind of refreshing. The room was decent and got good heat. The downfalls were definitely the disgusting one item breakfast (I guess that's what you get when it's free), the bath towels were so small not even a baby could use one (definitely bring your own), and the parking was way in the back which was only slightly annoying to have to walk up to the front in the freezing cold. But it was relatively cheap and on short notice so can't complain too much.

I would stay there again.
The front desk staff was very helpful and pleasant. The power went out from an unusually early snow storm, so that made the morning shower a bit cold, but overall for the cost of the room, I had a fine experience. My room was clean, the T.V., microwave, refrigerator, and lights worked, and there was WiFi at no additional cost... something that is often not available at more expensive hotels. And the pool was nice and clean.

run down and dirty
Staff was fine. Hotel was old and run down. The carpet in the elevator was thick with dust and dirt. The carpet in our room had not been vacumed. There was a used wash cloth in the bathroom. The bedding was clean and the bed was very comfortable. One funny thing was the notice in the room about the refigerator and microwave, however, our room didn't have a fridge or microwave!

Only place available
The staff was nice, but not effective. The rooms were reasonably clean. In the bathroom there was a used washcloth still on the shower curtain rod and someone's pj's still on the hook behind the door. It certainly was a cheap option, but I will look to some more modern and better run places in the future if they are available.

recent stay
i arrived after a 5 hour drive, the receptionist was very pleasant and accommodating. on reaching my room, it had not been cleaned for several days, apparently since the last occupant. I was soon given another room, beds made and bathroom clean, it would have been nice if the floor was vacuumed. in general, given the recent flooding problems in Binghamton and the fact that this was one of the "last" rooms left in the city, it was fine, the bed was actually very comfortable. Just that the hotel is very run down, and shared areas were not clean. otherwise, you get what you pay for!
