Super 8 Albany

I would not ever stay at this hotel again, I looked for bullet holes in the wall. Great area, great location, everything close by.

I've stayed at Super 8, including my annual vacation to Boston. I'm perhaps overly fond of the chain because of those happy memories. The ammenities are great, the wi-fi is free and completely uncomplicated, and it's very close to Wolf Rd, where my conference was. But my second morning there, I had no hot water. None. Whatsoever. Not even warm. I could hear the fellow next to me running the shower, but based on the parking lot, it didn't look like the hotel was filled to anything close to capacity. Yes, many of us want to shower between 5:30 and 6AM, but never before have I stayed at a hotel where that was an issue. I had no other complaints, the value was great, and I'm inclined to chalk this up to being an isolated incident. But I took a shower that night, instead of during the day, and that is my recommendation to anyone else.

Contrary to dreary reviews (typically dated years ago) this motel was a good value and was comfortable in all respects. The room was as clean as anyone should expect in a motel; I don't trust motel carpets anywhere; the bathroom and bed were splendid. Plumbing was perfect; quick hot water; drains worked perfectly. Unlike most hotels, this motel room even offered a bit of cross ventilation; yes there was a/c. Nice hi-resolution TV, with free service. Sheets a bit old but clean. Colonie is one of America's safest cities http://www.morganquitno.com/cit05pop.htm We approached from downtown Albany via public transportation on a Sunday, via buses #1 and #355; these lines run 7 days/week. I walked nearby to rent a car from Enterprise on Monday morning. Oh, there's a splendid restaurant very close by: Smokey Bones. There is plenty of parking for automobile travelers. This motel is not far from Albany Int'l Airport. Caveat: Staff had reserved a smoking room, contrary to my wish; this was fortunately resolved upon my arrival.

Old worn out building but clean, especially bathroom. Very inexpensive, very basic.

This was one of the worst motel I have encountered. The room was definitely for smoking while I reserved for a non-smoking room. The bed sheet was filthy. I am still sporting a bug bite until now.

Although my room was clean, the hotel iself had this very dirty look to it. Guests were a bit noisy and kids were running all up and down the walkway. The vending machine was broken. My rooms bathroom ceiling was bulging down from apparent water damage and had a big brown stain. I'm just glad I only spent one night there.

we rented 3 rooms to accommodate our family group as we were in Albany to attend our youngest son's wedding. We toured Albany and the surrounding area during the week stay. The location of this hotel was perfect for getting to and from the airport and surrounding areas. Our experiences with Super 8 hotels are usually very good. This one was a disappointment to say the least. The first thing we did was head to Target to get a spray bottle of fabric/air freshner. We had to spray it on the carpet and around the air conditioner. The rooms were labeled non-smoking but the rooms reeked of old odors. The beds were so hard. Sleeping was very uncomfortable for all of us. We made do, because the price and location was perfect for our extended stay

Not bad value for the money.
