Red Carpet Inn Albany - Northern Blvd

We got a room that was supposidly renovated. I feel if your going to do a room over, you should change the carpet. There were stains on the carpet and on the chairs in the room. Also the bed was like a rock and it was a king. It was like sleeping in a tent with a rock under your sleeping bag. Think Again before you book

It was a room, shower, TV...nothing more. TV offered many choices-one HBO channel. Bring a DVD/laptop player to plug into the TV aux input. The neighborhood offers nothing by way of restaurants, movies, stores or even places to walk. There is a Mr. Subb a few blocks away which was very good. Internet access was very good. Basic.

This hotel is clean at affordable price for budget travellers. The staff are friendly and helpful.

two times before this weekend we stayed fri and sat night only to come back sat night to find towels gone and room not touched as far as cleaning. I called the front desk and the clerk never offered to move us to a clean room but brought us two towels. This weekend i was placed in a room out back ,laying on the bed ,two mice walked across the floor. I called the front desk and he moved me to the room we always had before and said he would "comp" the room.NEVER HAPPENED!!!! One good point of this place CHEAP and thats it!!

We went to visit my daughter in college; we just stayed for one night. The outside of the hotel looked pristine but inside needs more cleaning attention and maintenance.

The hotel was nice until we got to our room.We asked for a Non-Smoking room with a king bed.The room we got smelled of cigarette smoke.The employee was friendly but the room was not what we asked for.

It's a cheap place, so no real amenities. But, the room was clean, the bathrooms were brand new and nice, it was quiet and the TV and internet worked. Right off the highway and 5 minutes to downtown albany...would recommend but word of warning: No breakfast, they only have coffee (although it is free).

Easy check in at this place....didn't have any issues with them locating my reservation as I have at other hotels. Room setup is motel style, which was convenient for catching cabs and deliveries. Room was very clean and had all of the BASIC amenities (coffee maker and fridge included would have been a plus). While it did smell like stale cigarette smoke in the lobby, the room was free of odors. Other occupants were either very quiet or the insulation is really good between rooms (I'm guessing the former). I was going to a show at the Times Union Center and the most expensive cab fair from here was $7. You could walk downtown if you had to, but one cabbie noted that there are some shady areas between the hotel and downtown. All and all this hotel is good for people who just need a good place to crash with limited amenities.
