Great Place To Stay
My wife and I live in Binghamton, NY, and have been to Albany three times in the last two months. We stayed at the Motel 6 on Watervilet Ave on our last two trips and were very pleased with everything. The location is excellent, right off exit 5 of Interstate 90, within 3 miles of UAlbany and St Peters Hospital. Our room was on the ground floor, and had a sliding glass door that opened to the outside, our van was 15 ft. from the bed, How about that for convienient! The staff were friendly, the rooms were clean, Sattelite TV with two channels of HBO, exellent security, and free coffee waiting at 6:00 AM. Don't worry about finding something to eat nearby, within a half mile I have seen Chinese, Mexican, and Italian restaurants, Pizza , and Deli's not to mention Bar&Grill's. If you go a little further there's no limit to the possibilities, I even saw a Lebanese place! We'll be going back to Albany at least 3 more times in the next 2 months and We'll be staying at Motel 6. For the price you just can't beat this deal!

Good for the price
Too often people post one-star reviews for motel joints like this one because they expect a $150 room for its $50 price. My ratings are based on my experiences with similar motels in its price-range. The room I stayed in was clean and comfortable (again, relative to its price). The front-desk was friendly. If you're looking for a place to crash near Albany, this place is great. My only gripe: $3 for 24-hour wifi access. Although purchased access cards are still fairly common for motels in this price-range, internet access is really part of a hotel's overhead, and ought to be included as part of its package.

ok runaway
When I arrived, the desk staff was pleasant. When I got to the room, the maid just left. The floor was stained, the room (non-smoking) smelled of smoke. The bed was not very comfortable. I think the only good thing was the price.

Great price and very nice people
The motel was very nice. The only problem was that the motel was difficult to find because the address was spelled incorrectly in my [...] reservation. I had to find the motel address by entering the motel name into the GPS. Other than that I was very comfortable in the motel.

You get what you pay for.
My boyfriend and I decided to go to Albany for my birthday weekend and for some reason the lobby and hallways always smelled funny. Check in was at 2pm, but the room was not ready till about 5pm. At around $40 a night for a non smoking room with a king size bed, you get what you pay for. A working bathroom with towels and tiny bars of soap, no blow dyer, no shampoo and conditioner, a bed, 3 dresser draws, 20" T.V. chairs and table, place to hang clothing and stand for your suitcase, no iron or ironing bored. On the plus side the big bed, cleanliness of the room and size of the room. We don't drive so cabs where about $7 to $10 and the number 2 bus stop located right out side the motel takes you to downtown Albany $1.50 for each person each way.

Not so well
We arrived early around 12:30 we new that check in wasn't until 2pm. However the staff said they would be getting my room done first since I had arrived already. My room was not ready till 2:45 and other ppl who had arrived way after I had were able to get into their rooms by 2pm. When we were told it was ready it had not been vacumed. When we arrived back that night our room key had become deactivated. Not so happy with this place :(

poor, poor, poor
The Motel 6 was very dissapointing. First of all it was a very hot day and when I went to the room the air conditioning did'nt work very well. I changed rooms and that one was'nt any better but I was too tired to move again. The air conditioning took several hours to get the room cool. There was only 3 pillows for 2 people which was annoying. There was no shampoo in the bathroom like they always give you in other hotels and since I was only staying one night I did'nt bring any so I had to use the bar of soap to wash my hair. There were no tissues in the room only toilet paper. There was only 2 cups in the room. There was no hair dryer , thank god I brought that with me because I almost did'nt. Usually, they give you a small coffee pot so at least you can have a cup of coffee in the morning, need I say that was'nt there either. I asked them to call me at 7:00 to wake up in time for my conference well that did'nt happen either, must have confused them when I changed room. The only good thing about the place was it was 5 minutes from the conference I was attending. I would not recommend this hotel.

cheap place to stay
if you are just looking for somewhere to crash for a night this place will do. Its pretty clean and the staff are nice. The location is not really near anything, so be sure to have a car or you'll be stuck with the bus system.
