new years trip to the middle of nowhere
the hotel itself was fine, but the distance it was supposed to be from south lake tahoe casinos was not projected correctly. it took half an hour to get there from the hotel, and to get back in the middle of the night we had to beg taxi drivers to take us back to our hotel and none would because of the distance. i was misinformed form your website on the distance and did not appreciate the inconvenience it caused me that evening.

David Walley's Hot Springs
No WiFI. 5 star hotel that turned out being a low quality motel. Beware of David Waley's Resort. At the minimum they perform deceptive sales. Consider very carefully that David Waley's may be scam artists.

Problems finally solved
We requested a handicapped room as my husband has a broken leg. Upon arrival, we were sent to 3 different rooms, none of which had handicapped bathroom facilities in them. Finally we were told that we could have a handicapped room but that it would cost us more. After much time and struggle, we were finally "upgraded" to a very nice room which actually did have handicapped facilities in the bathroom, and we were not (we hope) charged extra for it. So our initial check-in experience was very poor! And some renovation is needed (torn carpets in the hallway, things like that, stains on the rug inside the room, etc.) I doubt we'd return, though we love the hot springs facility nearby--but even that was an extra charge which we were not expecting to have to pay (last time we stayed there, it was part of the cost of the hotel room).

Not Brilliant :(
If you are looking for a hot spring I would head to Napa! We went for a wedding and I was expecting to be wow'd but was not. The entire hotel & hot springs need serious repairs. Some of the staff need proper training. The website needs to be updated as there is conflicting information. The restaurant had great food but I was disappointed with almost everything else. I will not go again.

Most bad, some good
Could not acnowledge reservation. Checkin time was off by 3 hrs. Pools in the spa area were horrible, dirty and nonfunctional. If you cant use the pools at a spa resort, why the heck would anyone really wanna stay there. Plus an extra $25 per person to use it , per day..... what a rip off.

nice location
The staff were friendly. At the Bathhouse- we were told that ir depends on whom you book through whether its available at no charge. We had to pay to use the bathhouse. The other swimming pool, the heaters were broken and then they closed it completely. This is difficult when traveling with kids. Genoa is 45 minutes from Reno, 15 minutes from Carson City and about 15 min from Lake Tahoe. Other resorts I have been to, have miniature golf, arcades, or other things for children- making it more family friendly. However I understand that Walleys is doing some renovations, so maybe that will be part of it.

Disappointment
My friend and I with our kids came for the weekend. [...] When checking in I noticed a small flyer announcing that now all guests who did not book the hotel directly have to pay $25 per person per day to use the spa and pools. I pointed that this information was not available neither thought their website [...] They said that the only way they can waive this entrance fee is for us to go to some timeshare presentation on site. The staff was rude and unfriendly. The rooms were not cleaned. I don't usually write bad reviews, but this time the stress was overwhelming. I paid $150 for the room that cost $70 last year and I had to go to the presentation and kill the only time I had to spend with my family. The place is definitely going downhill.

Trip to David Walley's
Trip was great. I just think that [...]should let the customers know that the Hot Springs are not complimentary with the room pay any more. Everything was great, we just didn't expect to be charged for the Minereal tubs use.
