No confirmation, price higher at checkin
Made the reservation by phone, I was told no email confirmation available, my mistake. On checkin the $62 web price became $88.00. Definitely a one star motel. Web site says pets allowed, check in card says no pets allowed. "We need to check that". Stay away unless you're desperate. Be wary of websites, we found most hotels full on the web, getting to town almost all motels had vacancies at 6 p.m.

The good, the bad, and the really ugly
I asked the staff:"What is the passcode for wireless connection?" She responded:"I dont know, I am just 2nd day here, cannot you find any information in your room?" Then she hanged up the phone. The room is very small and the lien is very unclean. 54.95 tax+ is an OK price but not this kind of service.

The ice machine was broken, there was a huge stain next to the bathroom, there was only one little blanket on the bed in Dec. The Good, the room was clean, the room was warm when we arrived,

Old hotel, small clean rooms
The Scottish Inn was a very clean, updated, but old motel. It is on the main street which is very busy/noisy. The room was stuffy unless you ran the noisy AC. Office managers were very nice & friendly.

Decent Budget Accommodation
The exterior of this hotel doesn't look very appealing, but the rooms are fine--they even have new panel TVs. The staff was also very friendly. The downside is the location: it's right beside a busy road, so it can get noisy at night. And there is nothing interesting nearby, except gas stations and a casino. But this is more of a problem of the town of Winnemucca, than of the hotel. Bottom line: if you absolutely have to stay in Winnemucca, this place is fine; but there is no compelling reason to visit this town on its own merits.

Great bed the rest not so much!
The hotel needs some polish. Beds are great the rest needs work, rip out the carpets and replace. coffee makers in the room would be great and blow driers. The staff is less than good. not very friendly. they provide minimal assistance, continental breakfast? really? Walmart honey buns and bananas. Great fair, not!
