In the foothills with views overlooking Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley
With panoramic views of the Sierra Nevada mountains and the spectacular Carson Valley, the mountaintop Ridge Crest resort is situated above all the action of South Lake Tahoe. The 11-acre property is perched 6 miles above Lake Tahoe and the casinos on Lake Tahoe Boulevard, but still offers access to everything that visitors want. During winter, skiers and snowboarders board the resort shuttle for a free ride to Heavenly Mountain Resort. The complimentary shuttle service also whisks guests down the hill to the lake and casino nightlife.

- All units are 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom. They each have a queen bed and a queen size sofa sleeper. TV, vcr, stereo, and gas fireplace. Kitchen with microwave oven, toaster oven, 3 burner stove, coffee maker and dishwasher. Laundry area located on the 3rd floor. BBQ and Jacuzzi outside.

Traveling for Family Fun
Our Stay at The Ridge Tahoe
We (2 adults and 2 kids) stayed at the Ridge Crest in a one-bedroom suite. The suite was great - everything looked modern and clean. The decor was nice and most importantly it felt like being at home rather than in a hotel room. In addition, we saved a bundle by making meals in the kitchen rather than eating out for every meal. The Ridge Crest is part of The Ridge Tahoe Resorts so we had access to all of the resort amenities like the pools, jacuzzi, spa, exercise and sports facilities, kids play room, etc. It also has its own access to Heavenly Ski Resort and a shuttle that goes to the casinos, etc.

More than we expected. Very nice.
Check in was easy. Place was very nice. We had a good view of the skiers and ski slopes. Very scenic place. Free shuttle takes you down to the casinos. Would definitely stay here again.

Ridge Crest is a Good Value for a Skiing Base at Heavenly
Trip period Jan 21-Feb 04, 2012 Hotel is build on a steep slope, so steep that it is build below the street level, most units have the wall keeping the Tramway Drive at the top floor level of the building serving as a scenic view from the bedroom windows. From the other room there is an nice view of the Stagecoach lift and a ridge above the lift on the other side of the small ridge top valley. No view of the Tahoe, no view of the Nevada desert. Kitchen fit adequately to support four. Nice size fridge will hold groceries for a week for four. Despite closeness to the lift that is not ski in and not a ski out. Ridge resort provides a shuttle "running every 15 minutes: from 7AM to 10PM", but we had waits longer that 15 minutes. Snowborders would be better of walking along the road, but in skiing boots it is difficult. Desk staff was responsive to diverse requests from us and security crew provided timely delivery service when our door card key failed one day. The on site, outdoor hot tub was great after skiing.
