Better than Average.

Older building (?1970s -80s style), but clean, comfortable and pet-friendly. Heater did not work (snowing outside), but a call to the front desk resulted in a service person coming promptly (within 5 to 10 minutes) to fix the heater. Staff were courteous and efficient. Had gone for business, but would also recommend this for a family ski vacation.

Money-saving tip: Not Applicable

On Highway 50, with many stores, restaurants and for those interested, ski-rentals and casinos within a couple of miles of the hotel. Snow requires chains or 4x4 with AT or snow tires to pass over the mountains coming from Sacramento or Reno. Crews at roadside will attach chains for $30 on and off refund $20 if returning after snow has melted and roads not icy any more. Good for occasional visitors driving RWD vehicles.

Comfortable, Clean, VERY Convenient

I needed a place for one night so that I could be at a 4 hour meeting at 9am the next morning. For the price of a cheap motel I got a great ground floor room 20' from the pool and jacuzzi. There was no waiting at their very comfortable restaurant. It had a huge menu and the food was really good. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was - this is the only place I will stay at Stateline from now on.

Never again

This place is sleazy and gross. The pool water was filthy, surrounding area very dirty. The room was at the edge of the property, right next to a loading dock where they began receiving deliveries before 8am - it was VERY loud. The rustic feel to the room (furniture) is ok if a bit hokey. The food in the resturant was terrible, the casino/bar area smelled like urine and was a very uncomfortable place to be (wouldn't trust the gaming there), and employess throghout the hotel were rude and seemed almost put off that they had to assist customers. There seemed to be transients on/around the property as well. Spent some time in the sports book and watched up to a dozed employess root for teams they had wagered on (too passionately, it was easy to tell). Read that this is a place for locals and that they take great care of guests and I believe this is true - if they see you as a potential mark! So if you are nostolgic for being hustled in a old (mob) vegas style way, or if you'd like any other kind of white trash experience, this is the place for you...otherwise steer clear.
