Skiing Get-away

I enjoyed the Lakeside casino, a bit rustic, but you certainly get more than get what you paid for. Room was renovated, fairly well kept, and nicely located, particularly for the price. Friendly staff, immediately took care of problems. Easy walking access to Casino, and bus daily to Heavenly Valley, and on weekends to Sierra at Tahoe. Although most visitors were there for the Gambling or Lake, at least 2 of us went skiing daily, to great snow, due to late season storms!! Skiiers staying at the bigger casinos noted those were rather impersonal & overpriced. Great food, friendly staff, lots to do-quite a bargain for my money

Friendly but not returning

Stayed one night and staff were very helpful and friendly. The special Prime Rib dinner was almost inediable and the fish dish we ordered similarly unappetizing. Powered mash potatoes are a good example of the basic philosophy to food. The room was clean but the use of heavy chemicals in the cleaning products left us sneezing and sniffling. The in room A/C was noisy and blew cold-hot-sold-hot all night. Finally, being asked to pay $3 (twice what Starbucks charge, and theirs does not come in a styrofoam cup!) for a cup of tea in the morning left a nasty taste in my mouth (pun intended).

Always a good time

I've been going to Lakeside Inn for a long time and I always have a good time. It's a good escape from the stateline casino scene, but it's close enough that you can get there in no time. Location and value makes for an even better overall experience.

Comfortable, but cold hotel

The room was nice and being close to the entertainment and food at Lakeside Casino was great. The hot tub was large and hot, which was great after a day of skiing. My one complaint was about the temperature of the room. It was really cold when we arrived and it took many hours to get the room to a comfortable temperature and beyond. This meant I woke up t 1am, turned it off, and was freezing again by the time I got up.

Dining tip: In Hotel

The prime rib dinner for $10.50 at the hotel is the best deal in South Lake Tahoe. The apres-ski drink specials (from 4-7) are good too. But, don't try to get one at 6:55 because their clocks run fast.

Comfortable, Clean, VERY Convenient

I needed a place for one night so that I could be at a 4 hour meeting at 9am the next morning. For the price of a cheap motel I got a great ground floor room 20' from the pool and jacuzzi. There was no waiting at their very comfortable restaurant. It had a huge menu and the food was really good. I was pleasantly surprised at how nice this place was - this is the only place I will stay at Stateline from now on.
