No room service here.

Although the room was clean and the water hot that is about were the amenities ended. From peeling paint and wall paper to cigarette holes in the worn bed covering the accommodations at the Horizon are sorely lacking. Finding out after I returned from my workshop (late at night from the rude desk clerk) that they no longer have room service was the clincher though. I also called down for an extra towel and was told the staff was busy. p.s. Bring your own pillow unless you like sleeping on a brick.

Weekend getaway

My boyfriend and I went for a company trip. For the price we paid, it was decent. The staff was very friendly. It was nice that the Four Season Restaurant was open 24 hours. Great breakfast special. Was kind of upset that the other restaurant in the hotel was closed for the season (Josh's) because I heard really good reviews. Check in and check out was REALLY fast. Clean rooms. The bathtub is a bit small, but it was fine for me (5'4) and my boyfriend who is (5'11). For you taller folks, good luck! Overall good hotel, I would definitely come back again.

Casino lost most of its machines, all of its table games, and is very short staffed. The water didnt heat up for showers and once it did, it didnt stay warm for very long.

Great Location

Horizon Hotel and Casino in South Lake Tahoe, was an excellant location in proximity to the other casino's and the Heavenly ski lift. In addition the parking was very convienantly located to hotel. I found the room to be a little over priced. The condidtion of the room, were less then satisfactory. It was very dingy and stuffy, and the hallway carpets looked dirty. I probably would not stay there again.

Great value

The Horizon Casino Resort was a great deal. The room was clean and quite comfortable. The view from the window of Lake Tahoe was magnificent. The location was wonderful. It was a short walk to the other casinos which made it quite easy to take advantage of their activities as well ( Cabara shows, Improv Comedy, Arcades, Slots , etc.) I would recommend this as a place to stay for family or business.

Very family friendly

The hotel was comfortable. I liked the fact that the bathroom was separate from the vanity area. The location was very good

Honest cleaning staff!

The Horizon Hotel is one of the smaller hotels in the heart of So. Lake Tahoe. It is an easy walk to the larger hotels and many amenities. The hotel is older and the rooms could use some updating. (The carpet in our room needed to be replaced.) I was personnally very impressed with the cleaning staffs honesty. I left my room early one morning and unfortunately left my wedding rings on the bathroom sink area. Gratefully, they had been neatly returned to exactly where I left them after the area had been cleaned. We also had a wonderful dinner at Josh's Restaurant. The food and the service were both excellant!

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

1. A short walk to all the major hotels and casinos. 2. A short walk to the gondola ride and to lake. 3. Very centrally located to most attractions and ammenities.
