Short Work Stay

It was difficult figuring out where to park and then how to get to the registration desk from the garage. Pretty typical for a casino hotel. There was a problem getting checked in as the hotel and this booking site had some confusion but the staff were very helpful in getting it sorted out. Room was very comfortable and a coffee shop in the lobby helped for breakfast. There were LOTS of purchasable entertainment on the television but basics for free. Parental locks on the television were available so that was nice. There was no WiFi?!?! It was just 10 min from downtown so travel was convenient. Not many food options immediately around the hotel. Overall, a decent stay for a conference or business if you are not planning on doing any work while at the hotel.

Reno's Golden Nugget

Although I was not happy with a $100.00 security deposit for "incidentals" tying up my debit card, the staff did call the bank upon checkout to release it immediately. The room was clean and comfortable and of course the casino had all the bells and whistles.

No sleep

The overall experience was just okay. Then it took a turn for the worse when it was time to go to sleep. There was so much construction noise that it was impossible to sleep. The gentleman who checked us in said it was quieter than the other rooms. If that was quiet I hate to see what ther other rooms where like. I understand that construction work is not in the control of the hotel but a warning would have been nice.

Fire alarm

Fire alarm went off all night in all rooms. No one had any explanation for it. No compensation given to guests.

Decent, but not exceptional

This hotel really shows it's age. Although my room was non smoking, you can easily tell this hotel was once all smoking, the smell lingers everywhere. The room was clean, but had stains in the carpets and on one of the comforters, and the noise from the freeway was a 24 hour a day presence. The room was decent size, the beds are comfortable, and the staff seemed friendly enough. I was expecting a nicer experience than I had, based on the ratings. There are a lot of vacant unused spaces in this hotel, kind of giving the impression that they have given up.

Awesome fun time!!!

The Nugget was fun, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The employees at the craps table were very friendly and helpful at teaching the game to me. We topped off the evening at Gilleys with the Dave Russell band. What an awesome experience!! We will definitely come back soon!!!

Two Days in Reno

I was a little disappointed with the location of the hotel which is away from the central area of Reno, however the service and friendly attitude of the staff was a highlight. My first impression of the room was not good as the toilet had not been cleaned properly, but the room was serviced nicely during my stay.

Excellent for the price

Rooms are clean and expansive. Rates are reasonable. Location is east of main drag but acceptable. I would recommend the Nugget to anyone visiting the Reno/Sparks area.
