Pleasantly surprised!

We were looking for an inexpensive overnight stay after skiing in Truckee and found this gem. The room was very spacious, clean and inviting. The only issue for us was the lack of noise suppression that you might find in a more modern hotel. We even had dinner in the Copa restaurant downstairs and got an awesome deal and a delicious meal. Nice room and good food, all for under $80. Love it!

Good value for money

Basic Needs Served

This is an older hotel that's been reasonably well maintained. The rooms are very large, much bigger than newer properties, and the baths are also large. The bed and room furnishings are nice, clean and well maintained. No flat screens however so if watching tv in your room is what you want this is not for you. the lobby is extremely tacky and the smell of smoke permeates-just as it does in every casino. Just a block from downtown and threes blocks from the river walk. It's a great weekday value.

The River Grill. Outside or inside dining and cocktails. Shaded with a greata view of the truckee river and downtown. Not inexpensive but very nice. Also, the outside lounge at the Siena Hotal that is right on the river. A very nice place inthe late afternoon and early evening.

I have never had a problem and the staff goes out of their way to make it a pleasure to stay there. from the shuttle drivers and casino personal to Mels diner to the buffets and staff. Great for the Price

We only stayed one night but it was a great room for a great price. They do try to get you with the casino because you have to walk around every slot machine in the place to get to the hotel part.
