Practical, and useful
The walls are very thin. You can hear your neighbor's noises. But for the price it is a great deal. Front desk service is slow and uninviting. Smoking should be prohibited in the casino!

Got the job done
The first thing I noticed about the hotel was the fact that it appeared that they had done no renovations since the 80's the furniture, decor, carpets and everything in the hotel was incredibly dated and notably gaudy. If you are looking for an attractive hotel experience, this is not it. The hotel staff were all pleasant and helpful, the rooms were pretty clean, aside from a large dark stain on the carpet but for the short 2 day stay in Reno it definitely got the job done. The pool is nice, the buffet is reasonably priced ($9.99 for adult's dinner) and the food is gourmet or anything but it was edible. All over the Sands was exactly what I expected, not glamorous but not a terrible experience, it is right in the middle of downtown Reno so for someone who does not plan to spend all day in the hotel, like I did, for the low price it does the job quite well.

Great Price and Close
The price and ease of using the Sands was great. It was like having a private casino during the week. Weekends became much more normal busy. Easy 5 minute walk to Virginia street and all other main casinos and strip. Well worth the 5 minute walk for hundreds of dollars saved. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. Aging style of colors in the rooms but easily overlooked for other amentities.

Family Gathering Place
I booked three rooms for our family. Check in required time (lots of others checking in as well) but the process was efficient and handled with professionalism. Our rooms were beautiful, 16th floor, all together and oh so comfortable. We took advantage of Mel's Diner, a short walk, and had another great experience there. Overall...couldn't ask for anything better. (Except maybe coffee in the room?)

Mister Wonderful
Good room, great food
The room was large and well decorated. The food (ribs) at the Copa was excellent. The hot tub, sauna, steam room and exercise room were closed because of plumbing problems; and we chose this hotel because of those amenities. The outside pool area was a zoo: unattended kids, trash in and outside of the pool, homeless sharing the pool area, outside booze brought in, etc. The Senior menu was neat for anyone over 50; the items really were bargains. The allowed us to check in early and the counter staff was very friendly.
