Located on Reno's main thoroughfare, between a revitalized downtown and the city's south end which features upscale shopping and dining, the Peppermill is Reno's best resort experience. Just five minutes from the Reno-Tahoe International Airport, the Peppermill's Virginia Street facade affords a glimpse into the elegance, luxury and excitement that awaits each guest.

Peppermill goes green! With its new geothermal well - of a depth and magnitude greater than any in Reno - the Peppermill has made local history with its use of clean, renewable geothermal energy. By January 2010 geothermal energy is projected to heat 100% of the resort's water and mechanical heat.

The Peppermill's Tuscan expansion offers a unique combination of luxurious amenities featuring Italian marble and hand-painted finishes set off by warm, earthy tones and rich furnishings. In contrast, the casino floor is alive with vibrant neon and colors that depict the excitement and action fitting for a casino selected among the Top 10 Casinos by MSN with Citysearch. 1635 guest rooms, including 600 lavishly appointed suites, provide a memorable stay experience for each and every guest. 10 award-winning restaurants, from elegant fine dining to eateries offering a more casual fare, including our 24-hour coffee shop where it all began, provide a taste for every palate. 17 themed bars and lounges offer an endless opportunity for any scene-from an intimate spot to enjoy a nightcap, to an evening of free live entertainment or dancing until the wee hours in Reno's hottest nightspot, EDGE.

While recreation is all around the Peppermill, the resort itself offers its own leisure-time activities unsurpassed in the surrounding vicinity. Spa and Salon Toscana is a 33,000-square-foot spa retreat with northern Nevada's only Caldarium including indoor pool, sun deck and Secret Garden. 24 treatment rooms providing the latest in healthful, rejuvenating therapies and a full-service salon are available for you to partake. A 9,500-square-foot health club filled with the latest cardio and strength-training equipment is on-hand for the exercise-conscious. Two resort-style pools outfitted with fine patio furnishings, a waterfall and sculpted bronze mermaid, offer private cabana rentals and an outside bar to conveniently sip your favorite beverage or indulge in an afternoon snack poolside.

Over 100,000 square feet affords gaming enthusiasts the latest in 24/7 live casino action including the hottest slots, table games, a newly renovated non-smoking poker room and state-of-the art sports book. Headliner entertainment is yet another attraction at the resort. Entertainers including Willie Nelson, Donna Summer, Jay Leno and Diana Krall have taken the Tuscany Events Center stage which offers an outstanding view from any seat. With over 106,000 square feet of meeting space, including the Tuscany Ballroom encompassing 62,000 clear span square feet, the Peppermill can host meetings, events and shows of all sizes and is the current home of the annual Safari Club International show. Weddings are a resort specialty boasting two elegant wedding chapels, the extravagant Skyline suite and stunning caldarium. Receptions for 25 to 3,000 are expertly planned and executed flawlessly by our wedding and banquet staff.

Whether you're here to conduct business or get away, we invite you to indulge, luxuriate, recreate and enjoy all that the Peppermill has to offer.

*Please note: A resort fee of $10 (plus tax) per room per night will be charged at the front desk. Resort fee includes internet access in all public areas and sleeping rooms, the Internet Cafe, in-room coffee, complimentary business center access, incoming and out going faxes up to 5 pages, use of health club, pool, valet, concierge, local and #800 phone calls, and shuttle service to and from the airport.

In town to visit family, so did not use spa or casino. Lots of easy parking, good location, but requires car to get anywhere ... as Virgina is a somewhat seedy street. Had 1 breakfast & 1 nightcap on site during our stay - both were marginal quality and very expensive. Recommend Stone House Cafe, Ben's Fine Wine & Spirits as nearby alternatives. Beds where very comfortable. Rooms were quiet, had excellent temperature control and darkening curtains made sleeping-in very relaxing. Other's got better deal with on-line auction.

They know how to treat the low rollers

wolfgirl Nov 27, 2009

I have stayed twice at the Peppermill. My first time was quiet, clean, and enjoyful. I found some wonderful reseraunts ... around the place. My second stay, however, was horrible. To begin with, I booked a non-smoking room, but they gave me a smoking room. I admit I didn't fight it because I was tired and didn't think it would be that much of a problem. However, when we all ended up with allergies, it did become a problem. The second thing I was greeted with at the hotel other then the smoke reek of my room was the reek of pot. At least two rooms where getting so high it made the hall stink. The third problem came at four in the morning. The pot smokers, now drunk, started yelling in the hallway, and a large group of people congregated around the rooms, talking and laughing in loud voices. Me and at least seven other people asked them to be quiet. They refused. I even called security, which took thirty minutes to respond. The people where in the hall for an hour and security still missed them due to slow response. The last straw came the next day. I complained about the noise, the smell, my room, and the lack of response. I was told the noise makers were a bus group to bring in prospective clients and that the hotel management were very sorry my stay was unpleasent but they could do nothing about it. The manager in charge suddenly found himself in a meeting, and the man who took my complaint couldn't even look me in the eye. Essentially, what I learned about the Peppermill was this; larger purses get better service, but the low-rollers do not matter. If you come in with enough money, you can do whatever you want, even to the detriment of other guests, and the staff will do very little about it. My advice is, caveat emptor.

Expected Better

Mama of Three Nov 26, 2009

The spa tub was awesome until we started finding long, black hairs clinging to us. None of us have long, black hair. We ... also found a nasty, dirty men's tank top tucked up on the shelf in the closet. The thermostat was outdated and absolutely would not maintain a comfortable temperature so we were up several times at night adjusting it. [...] We asked the front desk for four extra pillows, as I am 3 weeks away from giving birth and need extra pillows to be comfortable at night. The most they would give us was two. We don't like to let little things ruin a good time though, so we had fun anyway.

Very good conference center

A and S Nov 23, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

Just went for the conference and educational classes. Liked that toasters were available for the bagels at the continental ... breakfast table. Initially had a nice spa suite but it was close to the elevator and ice machine so I requested a move to a more quiet location. Staff was accommodating. Still a nice room, though not as large as the first one but the corner room has great views of the hotel pool and the mountains and was certainly very quiet. I appreciated the shuttle service (every half hour)to and from the hotel.

Fun, romantic weekend

Would recommend to a friend!

We visited Reno for a rockcrawling competition at Moonrocks, and rather than camping in the snow we decided to head back into ... town to stay at Peppermill. We are sure glad we did! When our reserved room was booked, we were happily given an upgraded room by a very friendly staff. After a cold, windblown day in the desert, the Jacuzzi spa was just what we needed to warm back up! The room was well-made-up and had plenty of towels, soap, and blankets. Our only criticism was the noise from rowdy people honking their car horns in the street. We highly recommend the Island Buffet - although expensive, the quality of food is worth it. There was plenty of choices to satisfy the big eaters as well as the healthy dieters. We will definitely be returning to Peppermill in the future!

Quick tip

Beautiful place for the price!

Happy Traveler Nov 17, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

It was a relaxing, yet exciting getaway. We were able to rest when we wanted to, and we didn't have to worry about downtown ... traffic when we wanted to get out. It was a beautiful hotel with such a friendly staff.

This hotel was great. I would do the upgrade next time because I did the Montego bay wing and it was so far from everything ... and i had to you two different elevators to get to my room. But overall this a was a great trip and i would love to go again. Don't ever fly Delta they suck.

Weekend of Business

The Man Nov 16, 2009

THis hotel required a $10 a day fee to use the work out room, as well as the internet, but then charged you additional fees ... in order to actually use them. The food prices were absolutely ridiculous. I've never spent so much money on so little at a hotel before.

Good, but was hoping for better

Xtina Nov 16, 2009

Would recommend to a friend!

When checking in the lady behind the counter was not friendly and made no attempt to make us feel welcome. She did not ask us ... how many beds we needed, normally we have been asked if we wanted 1 king or 2 queens, and checked us in with her robotic personality. [...] I can't help feeling that she just didn't care at all. Our room was nice, but the spa suite and a friendly smile would have made it that much better!

Awful check-in experience, nice room

BPCR Nov 16, 2009

Parked in the North parking lot near the "Oceano" gaming room, and walked for what seemed like a mile through the smoky, ... mirror and neon light festooned casino to the front desk. Our counter agent, [...], was like a drill-instructor, and demanded ID and credit card. We were walked through a four-page display of credit card and room disclosures on the credit card machine display (reading glasses required), and were charged an extra $10 (plus $1.30 in tax) for a "Resort Fee". What a rip off. Our room wasn't ready, and we were told to come back in an hour to check in. We ate in their coffee shop (excellent restaurant) and returned shortly after 3 to pick up our keys. We waited in a very long line, about 15 minutes, and were told our room still wasn't ready. Our agent offered no apology, no recompense, no free drink in the bar, no offer for a room upgrade. When she missed the opportunity to offer, we inquired about it, and were flatly and rudely denied. We gave up, and went to our convention, leaving our stuff in our car, hoping it wouldn't get stolen while we were inside, seeing as how we weren't able to store our luggage at the hotel. So, all told, we spent about an hour attempting to check into the hotel. I will say, when we finally made it to the room, the room was very nice. Clean, high-end furnishings, and quiet. The physical room was the one shining star of the stay. Other reviewers mentioned long walks to anywhere in the Peppermill, and I experienced this, too. Bring comfortable walking shoes. The other casino hotels I've stayed in in Reno went out of their way to make the customer happy. The Peppermill seemed to do everything they could to p*** me off. Some of the $400 million they spent on expansion would have been better spent on teaching good customer service to the employees. Will never stay there again.

A very good Mediterranean-Middle Eastern restaurant called the Naan-Kabab is just a short walk from the hotel. Even if the Peppermill is not worth satying at, the restaurant is wonderful.

Dining tip, In Hotel

Go on line to the hotel and plan your meals out ahead of time. There are so many choices that you should try them all. One of the restaurants, The coffee Shop, is misnamed. You might expect that it is not much but the meals there are inexpensive, large and well made.

--Dr. Mike, Colorado Nov 9, 2009

Dining tip, In Hotel

The Oceano is considered "casual dining." The prices are crazy, the food is good (although it tastes like wedding food) and the decorating is a disaster. If you decide to go there, just be ready for lots of blue neon lights.

--Jenay E-RYT, Stateline, NV Nov 9, 2009

Dining tip, In Hotel

Peppermill has these oblong screens with each of the 5 or 6 restaurants and it list the menus and prices it really help to decide what you felt like and what you wanted to eat that evening. Every meal was so good. We will never forget the avocado eggrolls. They where delicious

The prices in the restaurants looked a little pricey, so I suggest eating out and trying the local cuisine along Virginia St.
