Will eventually be a nice place
The lobby is beautiful! I'm sure some of the renovated rooms are great too. That being said I expected more when I booked this room. From the pictures and descriptions I assumed that all the rooms were newly renovated. The room we got wasn't even close. I felt like I was going to go into an epileptic fit when i walked down the hallway. The TV was an old tube tv that was fuzzy and would change channels randomly. The shower had mildew in it. As for amenities, I was very excited about the heated pool and hot tub (the main reason I booked this hotel as opposed to going a less expensive rout) but they were closed. Looks like they are going to renovate that area too and the concept pictures look great, but it did me no good that trip. Overall, I was unimpressed. Eventually this place will be great. I just wish in the description they would let you know that not all rooms are renovated.

High Maintenance Chick
Nice Stay
Super good staff service from the front desk to housekeeping to technical support to the bellmen and valet service. I'm described as 'high maintenance' and I was very impressed.

Nice Stay
My bother-in-law family and my family just got back from our stay at Grand Sierra. We enjoyed our stay. The amenities are great. We enjoyed the bowling alley, arcade, and the movie theater. The hotel lobby and casino is really nice; however our rooms are lack of cleanliness (mold in our bath tub, no conditoner). Sad note for "Cantina" restaurant, they need to train their employee how to treat their customer. We tried to have dinner there, first the young waitress can't tell us how long the wait for our table and she told us with our party (4 adults and 4 kids) pretty much we better off to eat at the cafe or Johnny Rocket...TWICE!!! And they don't have any line.

Great place to stay in Reno
This wasn't our first stay at the Grand Sierra. Its always good experience. Nice spacious comfortable rooms. The buffet must be one of the best in Reno. Great food. Friendly and helpful employees. The rate was very reasonable. Big value.

Family vacation
My family and I truly enjoed our stay. Our beds were very comfortable. You also cant beat being able to go bowling, play at the arcade, go on a go-cart and relax and enjoy a movie all in one night ! We went skiing in Lake Tahoe and we were only about a 45 minute drive from there. I would definetely recommend this hotel if you have a family that enjoys doing things without eating your wallet.

Very nice
The room was great. Bring your own pillow the ones in the room are too big. The restaurants are good. The buffet food is good, not great.
