Grand

We did not bring kids, but this would be a great hotel to bring them. So much to do here. Many places to eat, many shops, pool, indoor golf, shuffleboard, game room, very comfortable movie theaters, 50-lane bowling alley, golf driving range as well as the casino and entertainment. Even a wedding chapel!! Very close by (at hotel parking lot) is mini-putt, go carts and more. A very Grand experience.

fantastic hotel.

the only reason to leave the hotel is to go sightseeing. other than that everything you want to do is at the hotel. we bowled for the first time in 20 years. we went to the movies 2 nights in a row. we spent a little money in the casino. and the selection of restaurants is second to none. 5 star stay by far. highly recommend thegrand sierra to any traveler.

First family trip to Reno

The hotel is one of the nicest ones in the Reno area. Very clean with a variety of restaurants to choose from. I would definately stay here again but once my children are older. It's away from the main strip so it's not as smokey and busy as the other hotels. In my opinion, this is a great family get away for families with older children. The game room is a nice size and it has lazer tag. The pool area looks kid friendly as well.

A daily

Although my room was paid in advanced, they charged me an addition $5 per day for a "Daily Reservation Fee". I asked what this was for. The agent first said "I don't know" then followed up with "you have access to the internet, pool and work out facility". I thought the room fee included all this. No where does it say that I would have to pay additional fees to stay at this hotel.

Not "Grand" at all

Hotel did not honor the Orbits reservation, said they did not receive it. Had to pay out of pocket. Staff on autopilot, no caring or compassion. Room seemed old and dated. Everything closed early, no 24 hour service as expected. Will never go back to this hotel/casino.

Much improved

Hotel Lobby has been completely renovated since I was there two years ago and stayed in the middle of the construction zone. I was pleased to see that they now had a decent reasonably priced cafe which was sorely missing in past stays and a full service Starbucks in the Lobby. My only complaint was they tried to put me on the ground or casino floor room which were traditionally handicap rooms with no windows. However, they promptly accomodated me with a 4th floor room when I objected. The non-renovated rooms are clean and decent not much change from the old MGM days. The hotel is now pet friendly and I saw a lot of folks walking their pets through the lobby. I would stay here again but next time in the Summit Rooms.

Excellent Price Package

We Loved the Summit Resort. Everything about the hotel was just simply elegant. From the staff to the retailers in the resort. I just wish they had more reputable stores for shopping. Fairly large amount of space left downstairs for more retail stores. I loved Georgiou!!
