Will Definitely Come Back!

Hotel room has 42-inch HDTV, beds are plush, chairs are comfortable, and rooms are spacious. I purchased the breakfast buffet with my reservation and it was great. The buffet has an omlette bar, seafood bar, and dessert bar.

Pleasant surprise

We booked what seemed to be a low-cost ordinary room. What we got was more like a "high roller's" room. It had a Jacuzzi that looked out a huge picture window, a king-size bed, a bar and refrigerator, and a second TV in the bathroom! That night we had dinner in the Steakhouse. The Steak Diane, prepared in a tower of flame at our table, was superb. Throughout our stay, the staff was friendly and experienced. All in all, a pleasant surprise.

The room we stayed in was fantastic.

We had lived in Reno for 20 years, and left in 1994. At the time Atlantis had not been built yet. It was still The Golden Road Hotel & Casino. What a beautiful Resort built in it's place. Wonderful job John,Ben & Bob on the plans for the future of the property. The rooms, casino & restaurants were alot of fun. We will absolutely stay there again. Thank You to all the staff for the pleasant trip Patricia Kinker Deltona,Florida

good location, nice room

we used as a base to get to commencement ceremony at the convention center. room on the 14th floor was not updated (worn carpet/furniture)plus it smelled perfum-ey like they were masking something. we were happily reassigned to 13th floor and it was much nicer, newer. coffee pot in room, plus fridge were convienient. room seemed warm at night, even with thermostat turned clear to left at 50 degrees. pools; both indoor and outdoor!

not what i expected

EAT, GAMBLE and catch a SHOW. Arrived early and room was ready. Friendly staff. Helpful and knowledgeable about activities in the hotel. The room was good. Got the single King bed as requested. No fridge in the room. Not sure if other rooms may have them but I always like having a ref in the room. Ate in all the outlets while there. Sad that the majority of the food is stuck in the past. Food is not what it could be. Do not confuse the quality of the ingredients with the quality of the food. Issues with dried fried food on the food can be fixed by simply not pre cooking so much in advance. Salad greens allowing to wilt and just remain on the salad bar is just unacceptable. Grilled Pork Chops were dry and no sauce to accompany them. Some bussers clearing tables holding tips of silverware, placing fingers inside glasses to grab multiple glasses at one time then running the bus tub to the back and then serving drinks to another table. Reccomend place to eat would be Manhattan Deli.

Nice place to stay

The Atlantis is a very nice hotel casino, my two complaints about it are that the wait staff in the three restraunts that we went too were not very good, long wait to get waited on and then they after bringing the food they never came back again. The other complaint was the free shuttle to the bowling alley, they combined with the Peppermill and the week we were there the Peppermill was running the shuttle and they were not dependable and didn't run at the times advertised. Very frustrating! The Bellhops were great they were very helpful to us.

Smoky, noisy and hidden charges.

I travel a lot for work and I'm just finishing up a 5-week road trip vacation. So let me preface this review by saying that I stay in a lot of hotels. The Atlantis was by far the worst hotel I've ever been in. I admit that I was lured in by the great rate and fully knew that it was a casino-hotel. But I was comforted by their website claims of a 100% non-smoking tower. What a crock. I confirmed with the woman checking us in that we'd have a non-smoking room in the non-smoking tower, but the first room we tried had a lingering smoke haze. The second room was better at first, but the smoke seeped into the room overnight and we woke up coughing and with a "smoke hangover". It's now five days after our stay and I've just found an unexpected charge from the hotel to my credit card for $40.60. I won't be returning to the Atlantis.
