Unbeatable for the price!

The River Palms Resort Hotel and Casino is a good place to stay while in Laughlin! Though the hotel isn't new by any means it is clean, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The only problem that I found is, that they replaced the downstairs restaurant with a Denny's! And there is no other place to get food in the hotel except for the buffet! 0utside of that, I would recommend this modest priced hotel. I certainly will book my next trip to Laughlin at the River Palms!

For the money it's good

I stayed here for a weekend trip with my friends. We mostly gambled and drank. When we first got there we signed up for their rewards program and got a free t-shirt which was nice. The hotel was clean. It wasn't very fancy though. It was pretty basic. The decor and room looked like it hadn't been update since an earlier decade. It had gold trimmed frames and lamps of an odd color. The bedding looked like it came from the '70s. But the room served it's purpose and it was clean so I really don't have any complaints as far as that. The look of the room didn't bother me but I thought I would point that out. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was ok. The light socket in the bathroom was not very sturdy. The plugs kept falling out of the sockets so I had to be careful. And the plate that surrounds the socket was not screwed in so it also fell off. It was a little annoying, but I was able to manage. When I checked out, they needed to open up a few more windows to check out because the line was long but I wasn't charged extra for checking out past the check out time. I've stayed at nicer places but of course it costs more usually. One of the other complaints was the staff at their on-site Denny's. The service was slow and there was some confusion with our server and our server was switched with someone else. It was like at least 45 minutes until we got our food. Other guests there also didn't seem happy. But overall, the stay was good. It's good for the price.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The Golden Nugget is right next to the River Palms. It's a short walk and it's pretty nice. Joe's Crab Shack was an awesome place to eat. I would recommend eating out on the deck if it's a nice day. It's really nice atmosphere. I think it's better than inside.

Never Again

Did not mind the casion part, like the lay out plenty of room to walk around. Java Joe had great coffee. The room was not very clean the bed just seemed very untidy and the TV come on update it. It made us feel very uncomfortable.

River Palms

About what one would expect for an older casino hotel. Bed was quite worn and saggy, but room was large, quiet and clean. For the price, it was a reasonable experience.

straight forward deal

straight forward, nothing fancy. room and hotel were clean and everyone was friendly. valet was on the spot and really took care of us. im not much of a gambler and my leg is in a cast, so i chilled in the room a lot... TV programming blew - need more channels to surf. i would refer this hotel just because it was fairly inexpensive, but would be honest about the details.

Good location for the price

Good experience for the price. Located in the center of "casino row", so good for walking along the river to other locations. Room was clean, even though the furnishings are worn and tired. Denny's on site is good for breakfast. Buffet not deluxe, but good value for the price.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Since the hotel is located on the Colorado, take advantage of the walking. You can go for a short distance, or you can walk all the way down to the bridge into Arizona, walk across and up the other side, and catch the free water taxi back to the Riverside.

You get what you pay for

Overall it was a very good time, but you definitely get what you pay for. The room was cheap, but it was also small and the tv never worked. The buffet was dirt cheap and the food was actually pretty good. The casino had a lot of cheap tables, but all the table games pretty much shut down at about 2 am and didn't open back up until around 1 pm. The casino was pretty dirty aswell. All the workers there were very freindly and outgoing though. It is also in a pretty good location to anywhere you want to go.
