Vegas loving Mom
I hope it gets better after the renovation
The hot and cold water were plumbed backwards. So when I brushed my teeth the first day, I got a mouth full of hot water. Same thing happened in the shower, which was decidedly inconvenient. I was standing in there wanting to make it a bit colder and ended up having to jump out since it turned the water hotter. There was also a steady stream (much more than a drip) that constantly ran in the shower. It sounded like I was sleeping next to the ocean. i did like that they had a popular name brand's products in the bathroom. The TV only got 3 or 4 channels clearly. There were cigarette holes in both the carpeting and the comforter. The music in the casino is so loud for the dancing girls that you can't hear yourself think let alone have a conversation with your neighbor. And the dancing girl/dealer who was born after I started playing blackjack was doling out unwanted advice. I preferred to play at other casinos on Fremont Street.

Knowing what I know now...
The hotel is very centrally located to any point of the city via freeways. It's close to freeway access and transportation. Close to the strip w/o being on the strip. It's right on the "Freemont Experience" and yes, it is an experience. There is something going on every night until well past midnight. So, don't expect to get much sleep from all the music and noise going on. I got a great deal on hotel and car rental but was there on business and it was nice to take a few minutes and enjoy the scene. Try to stay away from the cafe on the second floor. Not very good food even if it's free. The hotel is a bit outdated but for the price it did it's job. Room was kept clean.

Great Staff, updating rooms soon!
We really enjoyed our stay. While the hotel room itself was average, the exceptional staff more than made up for the average room. On our first night there, one of the employees we randomly saw in the lobby not only directed us to Freemont Street, he WALKED us there! When I stopped a maintenance man on the way to check out because we had a burned out lightbulb, he came to the room with me and took care of the issue! (That's where I heard that they're updating and renovating all the rooms!) We would absolutely stay there again. We had a wonderful time!

Vegas for one night
I was able to get a very decent rate at the D for a Saturday night in Vegas. While the rooms were older and in the process of renovation I was very impressed with the amenities. The shower was nice and all of the products were from Bath and Body Works. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding and I was pleasantly surprised when I found out it was a voucher for a free meal in the actual hotel restaurant and not just a typical breakfast where a few items are sitting in heat trays buffet style. I would definitely stay there again and recommend it to others. Parking validation was also very easy as you just write your name and room number on the ticket.

Not Applicable
When in Vegas don't be afraid to try a nicer restaurant even if is a little more money. Most of the chain restaurants or chain restaurants in casinos will charge more than typical restaurants so usually for just a few dollars more you can eat somewhere unique and have a great experience.

Horrible stay
We got to Vegas at 11pm and went to our room to discover blood on the bathroom wall and hair in the bed. We asked for another room and they gave it to us but it was smoking and we asked for non-smoking. So they gave us another room, when we walked in the room wasnt cleaned at all. So we got another room and by that time it was 1:30 am. We just checked out and left. the staff was okay about it but didnt say sorry.
