Great Stay at the Venetian
Tom and Linda's Travels Dec 1, 2009
This was our first time in Vegas, as well as our 20th wedding anniversary. We wanted to do it right, and the Venetian was an ... Excellent choice. Its a bit pricier than most hotels on the strip, but if you've never been there, and have a reason to stay in luxury, this is the place!

Check with the various free papers and booklets you find all over. Many of them will have discounts to attractions or activities you were planning on doing anyway. Example, to ride to the observation deck of the Paris Eiffel tower, we found a coupon for "buy one, get one for 1/2 price".

Loved the remote controlled draperies and the lit skyline at night was beautiful. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. I ... appreciated the security at the elevator entrances on the public floors. The suite was tastefully decorated and the plush robes were very comforting. There were ample restaurants to choose from and really no reason to leave the premises.

You must see Phantom of the Opera but don't buy your ticket at the hotel; they offer "0" discount even if you stay there. Go ... online and buy discount tickets or at a 100 yard from the hotel, you can buy discounted ticket for all shows, half the price.

Based on the hotel's reputation, I booked the basic suite. It's not as luxurious as I expected, but otherwise it's great. ... Spectacular architecture. The gondola ride is even better than the real thing since it's way cleaner and better maintained than Venice. I'll probably go to another hotel next for a different experience, but if you haven't been at Venetian, try it out. If you have money to spare from gambling, get a better suite than the basic one.

Location was superb - best section of the strip, Phantom of the Opera, Gondola Ride, and Casino were just an elevator ride ... and 60 feet away from our luxury suite door! The luxury suite was fabulous, we loved it! On our next Las Vegas Trip we will go back again for sure.

Buy some snacks that don't need refrigeration for the room for breakfast and mid-day - saves time to go gambling with or enjoy your time in the luxury suite and saves lots of $$$!

Great place to visit [...]
Super Mombo Nov 10, 2009
We were there for a friends 50 th birthday celebration. The lines are very long, to check in, to get into shows, to get ... into restaurants but they they were worth the wait. A little like Disney land. One thing that bothered me was constant noise of slot machines (carnival like) and the endless promotion of the shows by playing their music non-stop even in elevators. Pool area was very nice (5-6 pools). There were some mats on the lounge chairs that were awfully dirty (not 5 star quality) which was gross but at least they gave you towels I had never been to Las Vegas and it was pretty much what I expected. The nice surprise was that not all was cheap food/buffets. There were some really beautiful places to eat within the hotels. There was so much of everything though!

We stayed at the Venetian one night on our way out of town after a week visiting Zion and Bryce Canyon. Not being gamblers ... we just needed a place to sleep before flying out of town. The suite we had for $250 was huge in comparison to a regular hotel room. Everything was very clean and the bed was almost as good as my sleepnumber. There was a business center in the room including fax machine. I would definitely stay again if in Las Vegas. No coffee machine in room was the only disappointment to my husband.

"Great Vacation"
Sensitive Sniffer Nov 6, 2009
Overall this was a great experience. We arrived at The Venetian aroud 10:00 AM well before the normal check in time. We were ... offered a room at that time, in The Palazzo, for a 39 dollar a day up charge. This was a 39th floor room overlooking the Vegas Strip. The room was outstanding. We were in town for the SEMA show. We did see the "Blue Man Group" and the show was well worth the price. If you are in to loud in your face show this is the one for you. The only down side to the whole experience was the overwelming smell in every area of the facility, except for in the room. It smells like carpet cleaner or an overwelming room air freshener. Overall this was one of the nicest facilities we have visited in Las Vegas.

Venetian is by far the best for your stay but keep away from employees , don't eat anything in your room , tell them you seen the shows already , don't go for the free trip to see time sharing even though it suited my needs , this hotel is the best since I visted all of them , THe maids are wonderful , friendly , and kept a clean room all the time , the others there , sorry I asked a question ! Service for the slot machines , front desk for sure sucked ! Now for Entertainment , BLUE MAN GROUP is a must see , don't go home without seeing them ! The walking was great , did the whole strip 4 times , every hotel , Venetian is the Best but needs alot more kindness from the Staff ! The tourist Rocked and everyone loved the place .
