Vegas Anointee Dec 19, 2009
The staff were friendly, courteous and professional at the hotel. The casino cocktail waitresses did not clean-up ash trays, ... dirty glasses, and garbage very well. But the most memorable thing is the overpowering fragrance you are exposed to every single time you walk through the lobby, the shoppes, and the casinos. Stop with the forced aromatherapy. The stay was fine overall - but I think I can get a better value stay elsewhere.

Bouchon in the Venetian was very good. There is a Walgreens below the Palazzo, so make sure you stock up on some snacks, and water. The tap water is disgusting in Las Vegas. Also, don't waste your money on the food court. You might as well spend another 10 bucks, and get filled at a nice restaurant.

I recommend that everyone see the Valley of Fire, the Lost City Museum, and the Hualapai's Skywalk. When it comes to the hotel I would tell everyone to eat at the cafe, especially the breakfast buffet.

The Venetian Hotel - What a Room!!
Vegas Traveler Dec 14, 2009
The suite was absolutely incredible! Very roomy and big enough for more than 2 people. There was a TV in every room in the ... suite, even in the bathroom! The bed was a pillow top and very comfortable. A separate living/dining area provided for an area to entertain without getting into where you slept. Perfect for a pre-evening out cocktail. The sportsbook was closed off from the rest of the casino and had several TVs with all games/sports on. The tote board was large and visible. The canal shops have a variety of food and shopping. Anything for any price range is here in the canal shops. A gondola ride is also a great way to see the shops and the hotel. I definitely would stay here again!!

The hotel staff was excellent. The rooms were immaculate and the service in the cafe was as professional as it gets. ... Someone certainly knows how to hire and train waitstaff. We ate there quite a few times and enjoyed every server's attention to detail and pleasant personalities.

Incredible stay
Old Blue Dec 11, 2009
An incredibly large property, we spent three days there and probably didn't get to 25% of the shops, restarants or bars. The ... Palazzo shops, Venician canal, the architecture and day-lighted "sky" are incredible. Going to dinner one night at a restaurant on the piazza, the hostess asked "inside or outside"? It was somewhat humorous, in that the whole thing is inside, but the "outside" atmosphere is so very real (and complete with a couple of very fat and happy pigeons flying around). And the service and food (my choice was Ossobuco) was incredible. We will definitely make the Venician our stay of choice in Las Vegas.

Venetian Resort Hotel Casino
Youneverknow Dec 9, 2009
My husband and I booked a room at the Venetian as part of a long weekend trip to Las Vegas. We enjoyed seeing shows (Jersey ... Boys was excellent), eating in some great restaurants, and exploring the "strip" as it was my first time visiting. The room was very nice and spacious - a bilevel "suite" with sectional sofa, desk and eating area on the lower level and bathroom and sleeping area above. Bathroom was the highlight - marble, separate toilet room, makeup area with great magnification mirror, plasma TV, separate tub and glass enclosed shower. Really nice. A couple of issues - there was a heavy, sweet "perfume" smell throughout the main areas of the hotel, though not in the rooms. Don't know if they do this to mask the smell of smoke in the casinos (which is another issue throughout Vegas) but I am either sensitive or allergic to most perfumes and this absolutely did affect me. Speaking of smoke - you do have to go through the casinos (and all that smoke) to get to your room. Not sure it's any different in any of the hotels, though. Also - our room was in the Venetian wing on a high floor. Loud, intermittent drum-like sound kept us up for much of our first night's stay. Turns out to be a known issue -noise comes from the hotel exhaust system, so make sure you request a room away from the exhaust vents. Apparently affects about six floors on that side of the hotel (nice view otherwise - we were overlooking the pool, the mountains and the strip). I am sure we could have been moved or otherwise accomodated if we had made a fuss. However, no noise the second night after we complained. Another thing - constantly being stopped by people promoting time shares. Bait and switch - they imply they are from the hotel and can get you half price or free tickets to some of the top shows and only throw in much, much later that you have to attend a two hour time share meeting to do so. Super annoying. A tip for those who come to see the shows - intermissions are short and *strictly* timed. Do not dawdle - there were people who were still climbing over others to get back to their seats during the second act. So, a beautiful room, some great shows right on premises (Phantom, Jersey Boys, Blue Man Group) and some of the finest restaurants on the strip - Delmonico's, Cut, Bouchon ( one of the best brunches I've ever had). We also enjoyed a great lunch at Postrio's (yummy lobster and arugula sandwich) and afterwards the delicious gelato on "St Marks Square" - out of this world. Wax museum was a lot of fun, too. All in all, really liked the Venetian - hotel was beautiful, room was great, service was always wonderful and I would recommend it. Personally would probably try another hotel in the future, (Bellagio, Wynn, Mandalay Bay) if only because of that perfume issue.

Great Stay at the Venetian
Tom and Linda's Travels Dec 1, 2009
This was our first time in Vegas, as well as our 20th wedding anniversary. We wanted to do it right, and the Venetian was an ... Excellent choice. Its a bit pricier than most hotels on the strip, but if you've never been there, and have a reason to stay in luxury, this is the place!

Loved the remote controlled draperies and the lit skyline at night was beautiful. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful. I ... appreciated the security at the elevator entrances on the public floors. The suite was tastefully decorated and the plush robes were very comforting. There were ample restaurants to choose from and really no reason to leave the premises.

Based on the hotel's reputation, I booked the basic suite. It's not as luxurious as I expected, but otherwise it's great. ... Spectacular architecture. The gondola ride is even better than the real thing since it's way cleaner and better maintained than Venice. I'll probably go to another hotel next for a different experience, but if you haven't been at Venetian, try it out. If you have money to spare from gambling, get a better suite than the basic one.
