Las Vegas has many themed casinos, but the Venetian Resort Hotel succeeds in transporting visitors to fanciful recreations of the Italian canals in Venice. Whether you are taking a ride on a gondola, enjoying live statues in Saint Mark's Square or pressing your luck in the glittering casino, time flies through opulent surroundings. Cool off from the desert heat by plopping into one of six pools before taking in one or two of the Venetian's long-featured star attractions, like comedienne Rita Rudner or the feel-good musical Rock of Ages. Health-conscious guests can schedule an appointment with one of the physical therapists, nutritionists or acupuncturists in the Canyon Ranch SpaClub.
Key facts
  • 4,027 guestrooms
  • 16 fine dining options, including Table 10 and Zeffirino
  • 21 casual eateries and snack bars, including JuiceFarm and B&B Burger and Beer
  • 120,000-square-foot casino
  • Theater
  • TAO Nightclub
  • Outdoor swimming pool and bar
  • Grand Canal Shoppes
  • Business center

Neighborhood
The Venetian Resort's post-modern playground has replaced the old Sands Hotel, and it stands between Harrah's and The Palazzo on the Las Vegas Strip. The Fashion Show mall, which includes Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Saks Fifth Avenue, is also within walking distance. Golfers need only cross Sands Avenue to reach the impressive Wynn Golf Club, which business guests will also find handy to escape to after a session at the nearby Las Vegas Convention Center.
Hints and tips
When you've finished an early dip in the pool, towel off and head over for a gourmet pancake breakfast at Wolfgang Puck's casual restaurant Riva -exclusive to guests of the hotel. During the day, while passing through Saint Mark's Square near the Grand Canal Shoppes, guests arriving at the top of the hour will get to witness regular opera and theater performances, with costumes inspired by Italian masquerade.
Policies and fees
The daily resort fee is $29 USD plus tax per night and includes access for 2 to the fitness facility within the Canyon Ranch SpaClub; in-suite internet access; boarding pass printing; unlimited local and toll-free calls; daily newspaper; a complimentary coffee or tea at Cafe Presse; One 2-for-1 drink coupon for well drinks, domestic beer or wine at any casino bar excluding TheBourbon Room.

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Painful to get to room

Cons Booked a air+ hotel package. The rooms are a pain to get to -you need to take 2 elevators and walk a long way - takes almost 10 - 15 mins to get to the room from the lobby My room was not cleaned or replenished from the previous stay. Complained to the front desk and they moved me to their hotel next door (which is definitely a better hotel). They have a huge selection of restaurants but none of them have buffets which is a big attraction in all the other casinos (especially the weekend brunch). If you like high priced Stayed at other resorts before and prefer that to this hotel any day Pros The shopping at grand canal shoppe The large poker room You get VIP passes and can get on a shorter line for the the night club

Great Stay

First time at the Venetian and it was worth it. We tried to stay at Caesars for their sportsbook for opening NFL weekend but Venetian was just as good and had a discount for staying this weekend. Would recommend it to my friends.

Entertainment tip: In Hotel

Don't forget to go over to Palazo and try their sportsbook but MAKE RESERVATIONS for a table in advance. Don't be left outside waiting in a walk in line. Wish we knew we had to make reservations or where to make them in advance to ensure a seat prior to the games.

Fantastic One person getaway

The Venetian is a beautiful hotel that is conveniently located. It has wonderful restaurants, plenty of shopping and lots of entertainment. I had a great time and would definitely stay there again. I eat at a number of restaurants there and I spent time at the pool and they have the grand Lux Cafe which has good food and is open 24 hours a day.

Time-saving tip: In Hotel

Spend atleast a full day walking, shopping, getting to know your hotel and surroundings as it is a huge hotel to get that out of the way.. Otherwise you will be doing a whole lotta walking everyday and won't enjoy the sunshine!

Long weekend at the Venetian

Overall my experience was positive. The room was very nice: spacious, nice layout, comfortable bed. My room was cleaned well every day, even the day I slept in and I thought I had missed the room cleaning time span. Some drawbacks: My view was horrible, probably because I got a good package deal. It was on level with the pool but all I could see was the back side of a restaurant and the walk way into the pool area. I other minor problem was that you cannot put anything of your own into the fridge. It is filled with for sale items. The pools are nice but shallow and unimaginative.

Always an excellent place to stay

Everything was as I expect from this hotel. Easy check in, clean, comfortable, spacious rooms and great gaming. The one negative is that the Casino has gotten "cheap" with it's blackjack game, like many other Vegas casinos. As if they weren't making enough money, the hotel now only pays 6-5 for a 21instead of 3-2. That's enough of a change to keep me away from the BJ game.

Horrible experience

I have paid through this site since it was cheaper than the hotel website. On the hotel's reservation site, it never mentioned for better view, more pay but when I checked in, they gave me a view with pretty much of a wall of a building since I never "paid for the view" and it would costed fifty dollars more. At the same time, when I walked in to the room there was a huge wine bottle right infront of a tv which never could be missed at the same time water stains on the tables.
