barely holding on
it seems this hotel is barely holding on in their business...and it is understandable....they are definitely doing the right thing by keeping the rates so cheap...i could not have asked for a better rate on a holiday weekend...but they need to snake their drains and put a coffee maker in the room...the towels were good and the carpet was new just not vacummed the mattress on one of the beds had a whole in the top of it with the foam coming out...but it is on fremont street that and the 50 cent beer and sparkly go go girls save dit :)

Very Basic
This was our first time going to Las Vegas so we didn't really know what to expect. I now wish I would have just paid the few dollars more and stayed on the strip-in a place that was much more cared for and well kept. This place smelled old and musty. The elevators from the parking garage are old and one of them didn't even have a "G' floor button to get to the check in desk. Once you check in you walk through an old shut down dusty section that used to be a bar. On the other side of you is partition walls with old dead machines on the other side. Our room was so very basic. A broken king size bed (the right side was so badly sunken in the middle that it felt like you were sleeping in a "U" shape. The tv is an old small box and you get a few basic channels. There is no mini fridge, microwave or anything. There was a hairdryer attached to the wall, but it barely blew out any air when it was turned on high speed. The window to look outside was so dirty that you couldn't really see anything, and if you are on the north side, be prepared to watch the glow and blinking of the neon sign on the building right directly across the street all night long (and closing the curtains doesn't help keep the light out much). Also must add they charge $6.50 an hour to use their wi-fi. Thankfully we have 3g on our phones.

In Hotel
If you have never been to Las Vegas before I recommend picking a hotel on the strip, near the middle. The hotels alone have little mini cities inside them. You do not need to leave for days with all of the shops. It is very overwhelming for a first timer.

Viva What
Needs a Facelift
Hotel is in its latter stages of live. Ended up staying in the South Tower. Directions to the South Tower elevator not posted. Entrance to the South Tower elevators where behind two double doors which were closed 95% of the time, which did not make us feel very secure. In order to get to the South Tower one had to walk past a closed casino area and night life bar. Both areas were heavily covered in dust as they had not been used for some time. Only one of the two elevators to the South Tower were operational and the one in operation was marginal at best. Most of the indicator lights were missing or blown out to it was hard to tell what floor you were on or if you were going up or down. Same goes to the parking elevators as well. Hotel advertised that they had free Wi-FI, but it was unavailable. Asked when it might be available we were replied "I don't know". As there was no full service restaurant on-site, signs throughout the hotel referred to places to eat at the Plaza Hotel across the street. The on-site snack bar offer limited selection at best. Door to the hotel room was not secure and moved about 1/2 inch when applying the room key for access. No additional locks or latches inside the room for added security. We stayed two nights and only once was the room serviced. Sink did not have any stopper or plug which made face washing and shaving difficult. Need extreme force in order to open shower doors. Washer pressure on the shower needs to be better regulated. If accidentally placed in a "high" category, it could peel paint or skin. Water temperature took quite a while to reach a comfortable level. Room view was awful. Being in the South Tower, it only offered a backside view of the deteoriating air conditioning units. Because of the close proximity to the Fremont Street Experience, room needed to be better insulated from the loud music and patron screams that went well into the next morning.

Cheap but not great
If your looking for something super cheap, then it's the place to stay. You get what you pay for. It's not the greatest, but it is right on Fremont street so you don't have to drive. We had issues with the shower and other things not working properly. The staff also took forever to get us extra pillows. We had to complain to a manager in order to get things fixed. Wouldn't stay there again

Adequate
From the parking garage with THOUSANDS of footprints on the walls AND ceiling cross beams to the elevators with control panels rattling and some buttons light up - some don't all the way to the soda machines on each floor that they don't bother to refill - this place needs TLC in the worst way. On the positive side, we went for the Fremont street experience. This hotel was perfectly located for that purpose. Room was clean but the climate control set up meant that either the AC was on or HEAT was on. Didn't even have a FAN only setting. Overall, the Las Vegas Club was approx 30% less than the nice hotels on Fremont Street. We got what we paid for.

Needs updating badly
This hotel is right on the corner of Freemont Street and Main so the location is great. Although the room was clean, the wallpaper was starting to separate, the bathtub needed calking, and the bedspreads were faded and worn. The beds and pillows were hard. There are no restaurants nor a pool. They are all over at the Plaza. The worst part is that we waited over an hour for our room because the hotel stated that we did not have a reservation even though I had a confirmation in hand. They did work with the travel company but it took forever. There were two other couples in the same predicament that we were. So, it was very frustrating when we got to our room and saw how run down it was.

It was ok
It was ok. Not great not awful. The bathroom was very dark. Could use better light. The ice machine on our floor didn't work. So we had to go to a different floor that reaked of weed and was super smokey in the hallways.
