Though owned by big name MGM Resorts International, the Vdara Hotel and Spa promises a unique approach to Las Vegas in the midst of The Strip. With a LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, along with expansive, eco-friendly suites, there's an emphasis on holistic relaxation rather than gaming tables. Let the resident bartenders serve you up a cocktail at Bar Vdara while you indulge your inner child on the outdoor swings or visit the ESPA professionals for a personalized facial. Guests can simply choose to spend their days lounging at a rooftop cabana near plunge pools and the magnificent Vegas horizon, or putting across the greens at the exclusive Shadow Creek Golf Course.  Picking up a few gourmet wines and cheeses at Market Cafe Vdara before leaving ensures luggage full of enviable souvenirs.

Wandering through the complex treats visitors to Henry Moore and Maya Lin sculptures in the on-site Aria Fine Art Collection, and venturing out onto The Strip brings the 'canals' of the Venetian to the north, as well as the gleaming Luxor pyramid to the south.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

buy the 24 hour meal plan that gives you access to several hotel buffets. Start out with a late dinner and then you can get breakfast, lunch and dinner the next day since it is based on a 24 hour period. Also the buffets are more expense on the weekends and better so buy the plan on a Saturday night and then go into Sunday with your 24 hour period.

Fee, Fee, Fees

[...] This hotel Vedera, charges an extra $20.00 per night. Hidden fees like this had made me mad the moment I started my vacation.

Nice suites, but not a coffee maker or bar into the room...even water, and a funny Smeel in the lobby of the 49 th floor...? To eat you have to go cross to Aria's rest. Witch has a good places to eat ...

In the Aria hotel you can eat a excellent but small portion of Peruvian Ceviche at the Julian Serrano Tapas rest...recommended...you have to get at least two portions to get satisfied...

Love the Vegas

I go to Vegas 4-5 times a year and was really impressed with Vdara. The bedrooms are fantastic. Very edgy, new, and comfortable. We were on the 41st floor and had an amazing view. The bed was extremely comfortable as well. We were especially impressed with the staff who were extremely friendly, accomodating and courteous. As a frequent visitor of Vegas this was a great change. I liked it didnt have a casino, even though I gamble a lot but it was relaxing and calming to not have the casino right there. The only drawback was that we ordered room service and the food was pretty boring. We are definitely going to visit there again!

Check out the new shopping center after a short ride from the tram. We spent way to much money at Tiffanys!

Loved the Vdara

I was a bit hesitant to book the Vdara since its so far off the strip and doesn't have a casino inside. I ended up being greatful for all this. It was so easy to check in. The walk from the valet to the checkin to the room was about 1 minute. You can easily access the Aria casino by walking outside for about 2 minutes. The city center tram is also very easy to get to, about a 2 minute walk from the room. When we checked in at 10:30 PM, I asked for a room with a divider and a view. I was told the rooms with divider were full (yeah right- the hotel wasn't even close to capasity). I was also given the option to upgrade to a Bellagio view for an additional $15 night. I opted to stay with my original room with an interstate view. The room was very nice and comfortable. The bed was very soft, almost too soft. The pillows were good for a hotel. We enjoyed the bathtub and the walk in shower, The toilet lacks privacy. Beware of the mini-bar, very spendy! There is a seperate side of the fridge that you can use for your own snacks. Overall it was a great stay and we can't wait to return!

Vdara Hotel

Our overall stay was excellent. The hotel is in the City Center area of the strip and is close to just about everything. The room was nicely sized with a small kitchenette, two flat screen tvs, a very comfortable bed and a large bathroom with a huge tub (big enough for two!) and a separate shower stall. The views of the Bellagio fountains, the Vegas strip and the surrounding mountains were awesome. The in-room dining menu had a variety of items that would appeal to almost everyone. We shared the Kobe sliders and the Heirloom tomato and bell pepper soup on the first evening. The sliders may seem a little pricey, but they were delicious and came with a side awesome fries. The soup was one of the best tomato soups we've ever tasted and we were both fighting for the last spoonful! The Continental breakfast was nice with fresh, sliced apples and bananas, and the omelet with bacon, spinach and goat cheese was great! The hotel staff was very helpful and willing to do just about anything to make our stay a great one. The only negative thing we can report is that there isn't a sign on Las Vegas Blvd directing you to the hotel and the circular drive between the Vdara and the Aria is confusing and difficult to navigate the first couple of times around. Aside from the driving in circles issue, we would highly recommend the hotel to everyone and we will certainly stay there again.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

There are three hotels within an easy walk of the Vdara. The Cosmopolitan is between the Vdara and Las Vegas Blvd, the Aria is across the circular drive and the Bellagio is next door (with Caesars Palace just beyond). All of them have amazing dining and night life if you decide you want to leave the hotel.

Best Rooms in Vegas!

I have been twice to Vegas before. Previous hotels were Bellagio and Venetian. Rooms were best in Vdara by far, Venetian was second with Bellagio third. The view from my 48th floor in Vdara was incredible without any upgrades (Bellagio fountains, Eifel Tower, etc...) Price was great, view and room were great, but for food we went to Aria buffet (better than Bellagio buffet) and to Planet Hollywood for the Earl of Sandwich.
