The Disaster of all Disasters

- I was there was 9 other friends for my Bachelorette party- Upon checking in, we have encounter our first of many problems during the visit- One staff said we all could have rooms on the same floor since it is available- The other staff checking my friends in said her room was already booked on a different floor so he can't change it- Our room smelled like sulfer/rotten egg so we had to change rooms- Our new hotel room had a toilet that didn't flush... we had to call maintenance and wait for them to come up to fix it... it cut into our pool time- My facial appointment was mistakenly booked at the Aria Spa but they said "maybe they also have a [...] at the Aria Spa that you booked it with"... ah.. no we called the Vdara... we would have know if they said "ARIA"... no initiation for a resolution to this issue- The room keys would work one minute and not the next so we had to ALL change our room keys at the front desk on several occasions- There was an alarm that went on at 2am and the whole building was evacuated... we walked down 52 flights of stairs... they didn't even inform the guests what was going on or what went on

Mastro's Ocean Club is one of the best restaurant in Vegas. Expensive but you get what you pay for... generous portions, top genuine service and delicious food. It's a must try. It is located in the Crystals right beside the Aria Hotel

My jewelry was stolen from my room.

Their website falsely advertises a roof top pool and a bar and restaurant that is nightime hotspot. It did not exist. The pool was on the third floor and the bar closed at 7pm. The restaurant in the lobby was closed at night. Very depressing atmosphere in the lobby.

Less than Meets the Eye

The location was depressing being so far from the strip. Easy walk to a sister hotel but after a while it became a chore to go anywhere. Staff was indifferent and the coffeemaker was removed from the room even though it was part of the daily service charge. A really downer experience.

Time-saving tip: Long walk from hotel

Take the public busses. An all-day pass is $7.00 and you can do the strip without much fatigue or sore feet. A great way to get back to your hotel when you're too pooped to peep.

Worse hotel I've been in

I've been blessed to travel to over 57 countries dwell in some of the finest hotel such as the Ritz, Mandarin oriental, Hyatt, Westminster hotel and many other and this is what happend to me and my wife at the Vdara in Las Vegas on 18 November. I hope you find yourself another hotel. 1: Hotel gave the same key number to another guest, who opened my room door and Thank God I was there other wise he would have my wife naked in the room. With some many drunks in Vegas imagine what evil could happened. 2: 1 1/2 hour wait to check-in at the reception. their excuse was the computer was down, but not an apologize or complementary service given. 3: Receptionist forgot to give the bellman my room ticket to bring my luggage to my room causing me to go back down stair and remind them about it and waisting another 30 minutes. 4: Another 20 minutes wait for bellman to bring our luggage to my room causing was to be late for a show. 5: After filling out a form that required my credit card number information, later on that night me and my wife wanted to watch a movie, we had to call the reception desk and they said I had to come down there and give my credit card, so what happened to the form I filled out??? The hotel looks nice but looks is not everything.

[...]

it took forever to clear up the confusion about our free resort credit we were supposed to get. Both [...]and vdara did not communicate and just acted like it was not their problem. I called both of them like 6 times each [...] I went on the trip to relax and relieve my stress, but I came back more stressed because of this incident about my resort credit.

Pool Deck Radio is Deafening

If you want a relaxing day at the pool, chatting with friends, taking a nap, or reading a book you won't get it at the Vdara. The pool deck radio is played at deafening levels. What's more, I stayed in a 9th floor, Deluxe Pool View Suite and got no sleep. When the pool closes at 6pm, the pool cleaning crew comes on board and works until 6am, also playing the radio at night-club levels. I got no sleep. My hands were literally shaking. I left the hotel days early, no remorse nor compensation from hotel management, and the radio continues to blare out at the pool 24/7.

Windblown in Vegas

The Death Ray is no myth!

Beware! This is not your typical Las Vegas hotel experience! There is no self parking, no easy access to Las Vegas Blvd, a restaurant in the lobby that was completely booked with private parties, and a swimming pool that was closed due to incredibly strong winds that swirl unmercifully around the dangerously threatening pool umbrellas. We dubbed the one day we weren't locked out of the pool area "Extreme Sunbathing" because our clothes and drinks were blown completely across the pool deck - and the infamous Death Ray was in full swing around noon. If all these things weren't enough, we checked in to our room to find long black hairs all over the bathroom, no soap, shampoo, or washcloths, a stinky fridge with what smelled like pickle juice mixed with beer and some kind of smoodge all over the couch. Yikes! There was no free HBO, no mini-bar. The view was spectacular, and houskeeping did come right away to take care of the leftovers from the previous occupants, but overall we felt like the treatment we had at the Vdara is one we will not repeat.

Nightlife tip: Short walk from hotel

The great thing about the Vdara is that it is close to the Cosmopolitan Hotel where we parked our car. The Chandelier bar in their lobby is spectacular to look at, not to mention awesome service and delicious beverages.
