Stunning remake with the unique Mob Experience and Nikki Beach
If you have never seen the Tropicana, it's time to witness the dramatic $180 million USD transformation of this legendary Vegas landmark. From front to back, the "Trop" is renovating for the modern era. Gone are the Fantasy Island motifs, since replaced by energetic inspirations from mid-century Havana and modern Miami. With changes in every room, suite and the casino, plus countless new restaurants and bars, a new poker room, amazing new Mob Experience and the much-anticipated Nikki Beach Las Vegas, guests at the Tropicana won't ever want to leave.
Highlights

  • Vibrant South-Beach inspired renovations throughout the Tropicana's rooms, casino, pool, restaurants and more
  • Brad Garrett's Comedy Club, presenting name performers
  • The stylish, sexy pool scene at the world's largest Nikki Beach
  • The Museum at the Las Vegas Mob Experience, showcasing 1,000 mob artifacts and memorabilia
Rooms

Tropicana Las Vegas has completed an impressive update of their rooms while reviving the property's original Havana spirit, with warm orange and beige tones trimmed with white. Some original decor remains (ceiling accents, shower tiling), but substantial improvements and now standard amenities in all rooms include plantation shutters, a big daybed or chaise, firm Euro-Top Serta mattresses, iHome docking stations, 42" plasma HDTVs and 300-thread count linens. Upgrade to a Deluxe Room with Strip views, the Paradise Suite with a spacious two-room floor plan, or the two-story Penthouse Loft.

Features

From stand-up comics in Brad Garrett's Comedy Club and revolving headlining performers like Recycled Percussion in the Tropicana Theater to live DJs and bands in the 4,000-square-foot Ambhar Lounge and the interactive Las Vegas Mob Museum, guests at Tropicana Las Vegas will want to do it all. Head to the redesigned casino and play in the poker room, race and sports book, or any number of slots and game tables. Glow A Mandara Spa, fitness center, salon and barber shop, and select retail are also on property/ Weddings at the Tropicana are performed in an island chapel and outdoor gazebo. Free self- and valet parking are also available.

The new outpost of Nikki Beach Las Vegas replaces the former Tropicana pool area and promises an epic, exotic pool scene. The largest of its kind, the Nikki Beach club experience is set on over four acres of lush pool landscape with tepee cabanas (for a fee), a restaurant, outdoor cafe and bar, a private island in the center of the pool and a sultry nightlife scene complete with entertainment.

Tropicana "Pleasantly Surprised"

The casino and rooms are nicely done. The areas leading to the rooms are nicely furnished and very inviting. The pool area is looking beautiful like always and appears to be getting better with the renovations still underway. I will stay here again.

when I checked in they were out of deluxe rooms and they upgraded me to a suite with a great view of the strip at no extra charge. These were some of the nicest rooms of any LV hotel I'v stayed in. It was like a apt.. The staff at the hotel were all friendly and professional. Overall it was excellent and I will be back.

The New Tropicana

Had a nice stay. Great location on south end of The Strip. Not much of a choice for value oriented food options here, but the place with busty orange hot pant clad servers is right next door and most of the other major hotels have buffets. Bring comfortable walking shoes. Facility is nicely updated and clean. Front outdoor corner fountain needs a filter system, sad looking water ruins it (first impression wasn't good from this vantage standpoint, but turned out the place was fine). Drink servers were very scarce and infrequent. Bottom line, we'll likely come back.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The place with busty orange hot pants clad servers is just next door to the east for great food and drinks for those not looking to spend $15 on a burger. The big place with the lion in front across the road to the north has a nice assortment of restaurants and a value oriented food court way back in the northeast corner of their property.

Tropicana

I thouroughly enjoyed Staying at the Tropicana, you can tell is has all been re done, and it looks fab, is clean and is easy to get around. I personally prefered it to the larger Hotel of the MGM, where my conference was being held, as it was a little bit smaller. Not so easy to get lost!! Overall it was all good, and the food was fab in the Beach bar.

Bathroom has problem

The hotel was freshly painted with cosmetic improvement and some new furniture recently, but bathroom sink, bathtub, and toilet need to be replaced. Our bathtub paint is peeling off and shower didn't work. However it's clean and comfortable. We asked for a strip view room but got a view of the roof top air condition units on the lower roof top. And hotel asks $25 per night for this! Pool area is too small for the amount of guests. People left towels on the lounge chairs in the morning to occupy the chairs all day. Weekend rate is triple the weekday rate prices. On top of the room rate and taxes, there's an extra resort fee which other hotels don't charge.

great time

was good throughout. A little out of the way from the front desk to the elevators through a long corridor over the pool. I as well as my friend didn't care for the loud music at poolside, not the choice of music, more the volume level that made a conversation harder to have over the music. food at the poolside cafe was excellent. overall, a pleasant experience and I would not be afraid to book another room at the trop.

book your comedy or other shows early allowing enough time to travel the distance. Las vegas blvd. may seem shorter as the crow flies, but double your time expectations because traffic is a problem.

Excellent hotel!

We stayed at the Tropicana hotel for one week in July 2011. Reviews were somewhat mixed though we decided to give it a try. We were very pleased with our choice. It was newly renovated, clean, comfortable and in a good location. It has its own casino which is handy. It is right next to MGM and opposite Luxor which means its at the beginning of the strip, however, the walk is not bad once you get going. We would definitely stay there again.

South strip bargain hotel

We had a hotel/airflight combo that was a real deal. The room was great with a view of Excalibur, Mandalay Bay and the Luxor. Great room, fabulous pool and great group of in house restaurants. One night my sister did not feel well and I was wandering around inside the hotel feeling very safe. Every staffer from the check in people to the car rental people were helpful and cheery. We will be back!

Great Hotel

The staff overall were great, although you normally had to find someone to help you if you had a problem on the casino floor. The breakfast had doubled in price from the last time we were there (outrageous). Not worth $20 each. After all it was just a breakfast. The room was clean and tidy.

If you take a short walk towards the airport, away from the strip, you will find "Coco's". The food was great, cheap and the staff were really friendly. Great place to eat with normal prices.

Not Again

The hotel is right in the center of where you want to be in Vegas where many activities and shows are. The hotel itself smells of smoke throughout along with a strong scent of coconut which is probably an attempt at covering up the smoke. The air condition in the room did not work which made for an uncomfortable room. The was an extra charge of $15/day for internet and a $20/day if you wanted a small refridgerator. There is a Long walk of about a quarter-mile from entrance to the building where your room is making it difficult on all and time consuming. The front desk staff also needs lessons in customer service. All in all, we found this hotel lacking in many ways and way over priced. We will not stay there again.
