Stunning remake with the unique Mob Experience and Nikki Beach
If you have never seen the Tropicana, it's time to witness the dramatic $180 million USD transformation of this legendary Vegas landmark. From front to back, the "Trop" is renovating for the modern era. Gone are the Fantasy Island motifs, since replaced by energetic inspirations from mid-century Havana and modern Miami. With changes in every room, suite and the casino, plus countless new restaurants and bars, a new poker room, amazing new Mob Experience and the much-anticipated Nikki Beach Las Vegas, guests at the Tropicana won't ever want to leave.
Highlights

  • Vibrant South-Beach inspired renovations throughout the Tropicana's rooms, casino, pool, restaurants and more
  • Brad Garrett's Comedy Club, presenting name performers
  • The stylish, sexy pool scene at the world's largest Nikki Beach
  • The Museum at the Las Vegas Mob Experience, showcasing 1,000 mob artifacts and memorabilia
Rooms

Tropicana Las Vegas has completed an impressive update of their rooms while reviving the property's original Havana spirit, with warm orange and beige tones trimmed with white. Some original decor remains (ceiling accents, shower tiling), but substantial improvements and now standard amenities in all rooms include plantation shutters, a big daybed or chaise, firm Euro-Top Serta mattresses, iHome docking stations, 42" plasma HDTVs and 300-thread count linens. Upgrade to a Deluxe Room with Strip views, the Paradise Suite with a spacious two-room floor plan, or the two-story Penthouse Loft.

Features

Head to the redesigned casino and play in the poker room, race and sports book, or any number of slots and game tables. Glow A Mandara Spa, fitness center, salon and barber shop, and select retail are also on property/ Weddings at the Tropicana are performed in an island chapel and outdoor gazebo. Free self- and valet parking are also available.

The new outpost of Nikki Beach Las Vegas replaces the former Tropicana pool area and promises an epic, exotic pool scene. The largest of its kind, the Nikki Beach club experience is set on over four acres of lush pool landscape with tepee cabanas (for a fee), a restaurant, outdoor cafe and bar, a private island in the center of the pool and a sultry nightlife scene complete with entertainment.

From what I remember....

The front lobby (check in) was being remodeled, smelled like paint when we walked in the door. Looked like it was going to look great upon completion. Friendly staff, decent size rooms, casino was average, pretty good value for the price.

good location, reminded me of a boutique hotel

They allowed me to check in early at no charge since they had a room available, which started off my trip on a good foot. Very nice staff. Got to my room, it was nice and organized. I found small hairs on the bathroom floor, but I was so excited to be in Vegas, I got over it. We were missing the "do not disturb" for the door, so the maid knocked. I kept asking for a "do not disturb" and they said they would come back and bring one and I finally got one after the 3rd time the knocked and disturbed my power nap. Besides the maid issue, the front desk and valet were amazing. So friendly a.d helpful. They even comped more than half of our resort fee for gambling there. It's so close to everything. Connects to mgm, excalibur, which connects to new York new York, luxorc and mandalay bay. The tropicana casino by far was the best. It was perfect size as to not get lost and be familiar with which machines I liked. I loved this hotel by the end of the trip. You can't beat the location. Right near the freeway, we were able to drive wherever we needed to go with ease

Value mid range hotel

A good value mid range hotel now that the renovations are almost complete. They need to make sure they don't get too expensive as they are not the Venetian or the MGM although I saw that they were charging the same rates last Saturday. Ay around $70.00 per night it represents a good buy.

Good Value

There are a lot of hotel choices in Vegas and we found this one to be a good value for the price. Our room was in the club tower--it was newly remodeled, clean, and had a decent view. Our only real disappointment was that the pool was closed, and the pool was the main reason we chose the Tropicana--so even if the website says the pool is heated, you might want to check with the hotel. The night club was just opening up--and we recommend it. Again, there are a lot of choices for clubs--but this one was new and fresh, had a good DJ and just all around fun.

Classic Old Vegas (with Modern Comforts)

The title pretty much sums it up... you feel Old Vegas, but as comfortable as you would anywhere else on the Strip. The pools and pool areas are amazing. The location is fantastic, close to a lot of entertainment with easy access to the monorail. You can't go wrong at the Tropicana.

Entertainment tip: Short walk from hotel

At the street in front of MGM (west side) which is just across the street north of the Tropicana there is a Tix4Tonight booth where you can get massive deals on show tickets and even food.

Perfect balance between Location, Comfort, & Value

I didn't have any issues with this hotel at all. The friendly staff even took half off the resort fee because I asked nicely! The rooms themselves are clean. The remodel of the rooms seems to have done wonders. Beds were very comfortable and clean too. i will definitely be staying here again when I'm on a budget and want to head out to Vegas. All around, a great hotel and value.

updated hhotel

lovely large room - bits of the old with a new remodel. Pool not open due to time of year but still could sunbath with towels and pillows provided. Hot tub open all the time -wonderful area with plants and trees..very clean. The Strip does sound like a war zone now with helecoptors roaring overhead every few minutes and the sounds of emergency vehicles screaming down the Strip was not pleasant.

Location is great

It's a great location. However, the staff at check-in put me in a handicapped room on the first floor without asking. I thought that was a little rude from a service perspective. Aside from that, it's a great hotel.

Okay Stay

It was very low profile. Not a lot of traffic through the hotel, but very quiet. Could not take advantage of the pool and the restaurants were closed. Disappointed that the tubs were not motored and the cable channels were few.
