Nice place

The hotel was beautiful. We felt it was a great price for what we got, however we did go in the off season. It was colder so we didn't get to utilize any of the outdoor amenities. The pool & hot tub were open but it was just to cold to go in. The hotel was in a more quiet area, away from town, which is nice if you are trying to get away. However, if you plan on going in to town a lot, specifically to the strip, you will be doing a lot of driving. It was worth it in my opinion. One bummer is the cute village that is around the corner that was supposed to have a ton of shops & restaurants & a casino was basically a ghost town. It has all been shut down & deserted. There were a couple restaurants left.

Great Hotel but not in December

Chances are you don't know that many off-strip hotels in Las Vegas and environs acre pretty empty during December - especially the second half of the month. I love this property but because it was December both restaurants were closed. The only option for dinner was too order room service or I was told I could take a shuttle to the Lake Las Vegas village. Since I was there to work - I got room service. I went to their coffee shop option (similar to Starbucks) and couldn't get regular black tea because there were no tea bags. Then the clerk got snarky with me because her boss wouldn't let her order teabags and her retort to me was, "What do you want me to do?" The next morning I went to the restaurant for breakfast - it was open. I asked for English Breakfast tea. They had plenty. "Why don't you tell the coffee shop," I suggested. The check in and check out staff was lovely, the room service experience was great (wonderful patty melt and tomato soup). The setting is idyllic away from the strip and for me the perfect getaway for inspiration. During the rest of the year the issues I had would be a non-issue. You get a lower room price in December - but keep in mind the amenities and services are less, too.

Dining tip: In Hotel

Go here when you want to be AWAY from the strip. A good option for families - especially during the summer with a fabulous pool.

40th Birthday Surprise

My husband and I vacationed here as a surprise gift from me for his 40th birthday. Overall, it was fabulous. The only glitch was when we checked into our room. I immediately could tell it had not been cleaned. There was dirt and leaves on the bathroom floor, garbage in the waste basket. The floor on one side of the bed had grape seed stems, and on the other side was orange peel rinds. I waited until the next morning to tell the front desk. They were very sorry and said they would move us to a different room as soon as one became available, which would be later that day. They also said that they would also upgrade us to a larger suite to make up for the dirty room and because it was a special occasion. I was delighted, as I was only wanting to have housekeeping just come and clean the room we already had. I was very excited to tell my husband the great news. Upon moving to our new suite, we quickly realized that it was just a regular room like the one we already had. I was very disappointed, but glad to have a thoroughly cleaned room. When we checked out, it was realized by the hotel manager that we had not been moved to a larger suite and she was not happy about that, but it didn't matter because we were leaving anyway. I would still return for another vacation, and I would still recommend this place to friends and family.

Great staff!

The staff was fabulous, from the valet guys, concierges, the staff at Rick's, to the guy at the cabana rental. Enjoyed the scenic location with easy access to Hoover Dam, the Strip, and Red Rock Canyon. The common areas were clean and attractive, however, rooms were in need of a good deep cleaning and update. Realize that they were accommodating large groups of sports teams and we may not have reserved the most expensive room, but were disappointed for a Westin.

Kids have a great time! Everytime!

This is our 2nd weekend stay here at Westin and it was another awesome weekend! From check in to check out the staff have me every thing i needed to make my stay wonderful! The cost wasn't to bad but i think the room i booked was a little small for my family 3 kids 2 adults. The views were great the amenities were awesome! My kids love the 3' pool, water slide, s'mores at night and movie by the pool. My wife and i really enjoy our weekend get always with them here cause everything seems to be close and convenient. Thanks Westin to a great start to a awesome summer!

Money-saving tip: Short drive from hotel

Bring food with you to the resort. Find some places you would like to order out from before you get there. A lot of the restaurant a are kid friendly but pretty expensive. I went into Henderson to pick up pizzas an the market has great burritos and breakfast sandwiches. When your picking out your hotel accommodations get the breakfast and family package early save you money down the road.

The front desk staff made the trip entirely worth it

The location was just enough outside of Las Vegas to make a stay-cation feasible and glorious without too much of a hassle after a hectic week at work. The front desk staff, specifically Chris was warm, kind went above and beyond to make sure that I felt special even though I was a local. I will definitely be returning to this hotel and hope to enjoy even more of what they have to offer.
