Beware of "Resort Fee"

It's not a lot of money, only six bucks a night, but they hit you with it at checkout and then point to a sign where the fee is buried in in 12 lines of copy. When I book a hotel on Orbitz, I expect the price to be complete with no surprises.

How Ordinary

The hotel is located off of the strip in a sleezy part of Las Vegas. There is an adult bookstore across the street. The staff was good but did not go out of their way for you. Prices for food in the food court were expensive. Drinks were weak. Slots were scattered with penny, nickle and quarter machines interspersed in the same area. The blankets had holes in them. No refrigerators in the rooms. The elevators were noisy. Walls are thin. I was awakened by the sound of someone in the next room urinating then heard the flushing of the toilet. Parking is scarce, especially when events are held in the Arena. All in all, not a pleasant trip. I will not return to the Orleans.

terrible!

Old hotel, had to wait to get on the elevator at 1 am. even though i was checking out, the maid still knocked at 830 am and woke me up. After I put the do not disturb sign on the door the maid still knocked again an hour later. just a terrible experience.

Three Stars???

First of all the hotel didn't give us the suite that was described in the reservation and they tried to blame it on Orbitz. The free shuttle is the only good thing the hotel has. The room was full of flaws, like the toilet seat that was not bolted down correctly, and the bathroom sliding door lock that didn't work. The sink had a weird smell. The water in the shower took a while to go down the drain. The ironing board hook was falling down, and the ironing board was really bad and stained. Take your own ironing board. We stayed for 3 nights, and requested room service by leaving the door hanger after the second night and the room didn't get serviced. This was by far the worst hotel experience. I've been to other hotels far from the strip better than this and less expensive. The windows were dirty and we couldn't really enjoy the view. The television volume was at max every time it was turned on.

Don't waste your time in booking this hotel, unless all you want to do in Vegas is gamble and won't be spending any time in the hotel room.

Mr. Olympia trip

The stay was awful the bed sheets were stained, there were only 4 channels working for the TV. The keys did not work and the door handle was broke. My wife made a compliant and the staff was not helpful and had an attitude. The hallways were dirty with glasses and trash that were not picked up the whole tIke we were there. The only good thing about the hotel was that we were close to the convention center.

Stale smell of smoke in lobby a real put off

I've been to nearly every hotel in Vegas and there is no hotel quite like this one for smell of stale smoke. They need better ventilation or to go through fumigation of the main lobby.

Celebrating Anniversary and New Year's Eve

We have always eaten at The Orleans, which has one of the best buffets in Vegas, but the stay was not great. The carpet, the chairs and the couch in the room were heavily soiled and stained with God knows what! The carpet in the halls looked the same. The thermostat didn't work right. You would turn on the heater and the air conditioner would come on and it was 30 degrees outside. The bed is so old, we you sit on it, it creaks like it needs oil. And we gave our brand new Mercedes to the Valet who returned it with a nice scratch down the side. We will never stay there again.
