The Mirage, the hotel that introduced the concept of destination resort to the Las Vegas Strip, recently underwent a stunning transformation to maintain its preeminent position in what has become an increasingly competitive market. While introducing contemporary amenities designed to recapture the resort's leading-edge position, The Mirage maintains the exceptional service standards and sophisticated atmosphere that have distinguished it as a AAA Four Diamond Luxury Resort and Casino.
Once inside, a sun-lit atrium welcomes you with palm trees towering above waterfalls and pools. Already one of the most elaborate and technically advanced in the world, The Mirage aquarium recently underwent a transformation. New, brighter artificial corals evoke the exotic beauty of such tropical locales as Australia's Great Barrier Reef, while the addition of hundreds of new sea creatures provides a rare glimpse into the aquatic wonders of our planet.
The Mirage's 3,044 guest rooms and suites have undergone a $110 million dollar renovation. The new rooms will feature simple lines with an ergonomic design detailed to give a high-end feel, while warm woods and a bold color scheme transport the rooms into the realm of chic. Ultra-modern upgrades and amenities including LCD TVs and iHome MP3 docks provide everything necessary for a truly lavish experience to cater to both the leisure and business traveler (Mirage Events Center offers over 171,000-square-feet of convention space).
The Spa and celebrity stylist Kim Vo Salon, offers the latest in hair trends and treatments as well as manicures, pedicures, hair extensions and personalized makeup services. A barbershop provides men's grooming products along with traditional services. Enjoy a therapeutic massage or indulge yourself to one of our natural, soothing body and facial treatments in the new Spa at The Mirage.
The Mirage's lush tropical pool area includes two pools, three spas surrounded by waterfalls, private cabanas, and an outdoor café. Bare at The Mirage offers an exclusive adult alternative to the typical Las Vegas pool experience. With its distinctive contemporary ambiance and ultra VIP service, Bare is ideal for those wanting to relax, kick-back and socialize or turn up the music and heat up the day.
If lounging by the pool leaves you famished, try the wide variety of Fine Dining. From steak and seafood at kokomo's to Italian-American fare at Onda Ristorante, or modern contemporary Japanese cuisine at Japonais. Or, for a more casual setting stop by the Carnegie Deli (the only outpost outside of NYC), Cravings buffet, BLT Burger or the California Pizza Kitchen.
For entertainment, Cirque du Soleil's latest creation, "LOVE," showcases the music of The Beatles in a custom-built, multi-million dollar theater. Winner of "America's Got Talent," Terry Fator is the resort's resident impressionist/ventriloquist/singer/comedian. In addition, myriad lounges offer lively libations and live entertainment, and, of course, the tropical-themed casino has a wide variety of slots, video poker, and table games and a race and sports book.
*** Guests must be 21 or older to check in.
A resort fee of $15 plus tax per room per day will be assessed at the front desk. Resort fee includes in-room Internet access; daily newspapers and bottled water; daily access to Cardio Room (not including The Spa or fitness center); two robes provided for guest use during their stay; complimentary printing of boarding passes, complimentary notary services, unlimited local and toll-free calls, and free copies and faxes up to 5 pages.

A corporate take over
The rooms were great, but the hotel tries to take away the little things that made it fun. The hotel has added a room charge ... of $10.00 per day for something, not sure. It's like the airlines charging you extra for your bags. We like to play the slot machines for entertainment, but the slots are now rigged so you're forced to pay more and win less. Food is now very expensive at the hotel including the buffet. The Corporations that own and run the Mirage are now trying to show a profit at the expense of providing you with the little things that made your stay special.

Average hotel on a great location.
The best thing about thr Mirage is the location, but here are a few things I didn't like: bathroom is real small and a little ... dirty when we checked in, takes about 45 mins for any kind of service to get to your room, TV is big, but the remote was a little messed up and slow to respond. The things that I did like was the food places at the casino level, people were really nice, casino was kept clean and the concierge was friendly and professional.

Great room -- clean & big. Very enjoyable time. "LOVE" was excellent. Don't understand the reason for the $15/day ... resort fee. This should be told to us upfront.Plus a 12% tax onto the fee.

" Great Anniversary Trip"
Checked in with great customer service...friendly, and very accomodating. She sent a special complimentary gift to our room ... to celebrate our anniversary. Room was real nice and comfortable. All the hotel/casino staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Poker room was a lot nicer compared to other Casinos nearby. The location was great; centrally located with easy access to everything. One downside was the buffet...could have used some hot crab legs and better desserts.

When I arrived at the hotel I was shown what line to stand in by a hotel employee. I stood in line and watched as people who ... arrived after me get checked in first.(alot of people). I felt like I was being punished for some reason. I really feel that there should have been somebody watching so that people who arrive first can get checked in first. I also do not understand why there is a seperate $15 a day fee for the workout room whether you use it or not, why not just put it in the room fee right away. Is this a way that they make you think we are getting a better deal on the room?

Great renovated hotel
The hotel was decked out for the chinese new year, signaling its own rebirth. The rooms are recently renovated and huge. In ... a two queen bed room there were still two chairs and plenty of room at the desk with a huge flat screen TV. We were pleasantly surprised as this is an older hotel but it was fresh and clean. The restaurants were excellent. Japonais is a truly wonderful dining experience.

Our stay was a little less than enjoyable. The front desk staff was rude after realizing we had booked the room through your ... website. We were also treated criminal for not having paid for the room with a major credit card. (Apparently a debit card with a Visa logo is unacceptable.) That left my mother and I without many choices for hotel amenities without having to making numerous trips to the ATM.

The Mirage Las Vegas
there was a snowstorm in Jersey the day we were leaving and we barely made our flight by begging the jet-way people to hold ... the plane. We figured there was no way we would have our luggage, but I have to give it to Continental, our bags got on the plane somehow. At check-in, the staff informed me that only one room had been booked when we had booked 2. Concierge was great. They gave us VIP passes to all of the hot spots. The rooms were very clean and LARGE. A friend of ours had a suite at the Luxor and our room was definately bigger and half the price. The hotel is at a perfect location in the middle of the strip. Rhumbar is cool on a hot day. Starbucks is ALWAYS crowded and the burger joint is really good, but pricey. Great overall trip. I would recommend The Mirage any day.

Always pick a hotel in the middle of the strip. Mirage has tram to TI and monorail is accross the street. The forum shops of ceasers are next door. Shuttle to off strip hotels such as rio also nearby. You will not want to walk the entire strip at one time so stay in the middle. Car is helpful, but not required, and all valets at the hotels are free(+tip). Mirage has at least 10 great restaurants and clubs.
