Memorial Weekend Review

the seating for the pool area was dissapointing. Many guests reserve chairs with towels and dont return till hours later. Leaving other guests seatless. There was also another area to rent chairs for $138 each. That is ridiculos. The pool area needs to be restrategized.

Family Weekend in Vegas

The room needed a bit of cleaning and theHotel is showing it's age a little bit. The pool was great and we went to this property because we were traveling with kids and we knew they would have fun there. I wish there were more affordable eating options.

A quick getaway with kids...

THEhotel was lovely. The room was ample in size, able to fit a family of four. We did need to keep reminding the front desk/housekeeping department to clean the room, as I think they forgot about us. However, we felt heard, and the room got serviced. There was no charge for a roll away bed (for our 9 yr old). They sent an extra set of sheets up for the sofa which my 8 year old slept on. The location was fair...as we spent a lot of time trying to get to the "arcades" and good shopping areas. The buffets were fair. I am not a huge fan of buffets (feel like cattle being moved around and the germ factor), but the kids loved the breakfast buffet that came with the room.

Pretty Good....

I've now stayed at 3 top Vegas hotels all within the last few months. THEhotel is the place for you if you want a large room -- it's got a great little extra seating area and extra bathroom. It would not be worthwhile for a solo traveler, but if 2 people are sharing, it is nice to have the extra space and the extra bathroom. The amenities for the hotel are located at Mandalay Bay resort, which requires a short walk from the rooms. In my experience it was comparable to the distance you would have to walk at any of the other hotels. The pool is cool since it gives a real beachy vibe and makes waves every couple of minutes. The clientele is what I would call "Vegas Party" - pretty much the same as at other hotels, though if pressed, I would have to say I thought Aria and Wynn were slightly classier. Location for Mandalay Bay is worse than for Aria and Wynn in that there is not that much high end shopping etc. nearby the resort. In short, I would book this one if (a) you get good rates for it compared to other 5 star properties; (b) you can use the extra space in the room; and (c) the idea of a really beachy resorty vibe at the pool appeals to you.

Dark and dreamy

Staff and room were very nice. The hotel decor is dark and artsy....a little too dark but beautiful. The halls are noisy which is not too suprising in Vegas.
