THehotel at Mandalay Bay

We had stayed at Mandalay Bay before and I was always satisfied there so I was a little nervous to see the other accomodation. Much to our delight we had a suite. Also a flat screen TV in every room but the second bathroom. Each room-living room and bedroom- were beautifully decorated. The bedroom had more than adequate storage. The pool, lazy river and wave beach were fantastic There were many restaurants to choose from. The ones we ate in were maybe a little overpriced but the food was excellent in all. The service overall was great. It was a great experience and I would do it again.

Very comfortable hotel

The Hotel at Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas is a very well run efficient hotel. Services were excellent, from the free valet parking, clean and comfortable rooms and a very helpful staff. Being adjacent to the Mandalay Bay Resort, we shared all the features of the Resort including Casino, Pool, Spa, and all the restaurants. The Hotel is just a lot smaller and more personable than staying at the Resort. Checkin and Checkout were a breeze with a full staff manning the desks and the procedures took only a few minutes. I would definitely stay there again when returnig to Las Vegas. If you are a person who likes to go to all the different shows and casinos on the Strip, you must realize that this Hotel and Resort are on the very South End of the Strip and is a long trek to the Hotels on the North end.

A wild time...very fun!

THEHotel at Mandalay Bay was very awesome. The only thing I would change about the room would be is to have a wide open floor plan kinda like the Palazzo or the Venetian, but it was still pretty roomy. The highlight of the stay there was probably the pools...can't say enough good stuff about the Moorea Pool especially, and even the wave pool, and lazy river. You could seriously spend hours out there like we did and never get bored! Great place to meet people, enjoy the sun, get tan, drink, cool off in the water, etc... Just an overall great time and would definitely stay there again!

An oasis of good taste

TheHotel is an oasis of sobriety and good taste. From the low-key lighting and minimalist d?cor of the lobby to the subdued tones of the bedroom/suite, it felt almost like a normal hotel. And a peaceful retreat from the rampant vulgarity which characterises much of Vegas. As this is Las Vegas, there is an immense choice of restaurants available, and we even used the room-service which was of excellent quality. There was a long-ish queue at check-in, but it was absorbed quite rapidly; but to avoid complications at check-out we used the video check-out service on the room's TV. There was one issue, however, as our room was not completely ready when we entered it. But this was rapidly resolved and we were compensated for the inconvenience. Despite the free tram-way, this only goes as far as the Excalibur, and anyone wanting to go to the action on Strip needs to take a (short) taxi ride. This is a small inconvenience, however, compared to the luxury of the beach at Mandalay Bay. The whole set-up, including the wave pool and the opportunity to do a spot of body surfing, makes TheHotel even more unique.

Dining options abound in the Mandalay Bay complex, from Sushi to Asian to Italian, to Ducasse, to what are rumoured to be some of the best burgers in USA at the Burger Bar. None of these, however, is any match for Guy Savoy, at Caesar's Palace, a world-class dining experience bettered only by the original Savoy restaurant in Paris, France.

The Hotel at Mandalay Bay was so relaxing, and had all the things that I neeed to have a great time in Las Vegas. If I had decided not to leave the property it had everything in the hotel. The hotel is beautiful and has sophistication without being snooty.

Quiet hotel

The suite was very nice but it was obvious the living room carpet had not been vacuumed. There were no robes in the bedroom closet and there are no words to describe the duvet cover on the bed. It appeared a previous guest had been to the pool and had oil or suntan lotion on and laid down on the bed. There were grease spots all over the top, sides of the cover and the pillow shams. We called the front desk to complain. We got our robes in about 15 minutes but after more than an hour no one had come up to replace the bedding or vacuum. I went down to the front desk and asked for the manager and explained all the problems. She apologized and said it would be taken care of right way but there was no excuse for the condition of the room. She offered us a $75.00 dining credit at some of the property restaurants which we did use on our stay. Shortly after I returned to the room someone from housekeeping did take care of everything, she was very nice and very thorough. We finally were able to settle in about 5-6 hours after we arrived and go to dinner. Each day we had to ask for towels as they would take the dirty ones away and not replace them, some days we had no hand towels or wash clothes. Besides the issues the first day and the towels not being replaced the overall atmosphere of THEHotel, the size of the standard suites and how quiet it was made the stay enjoyable. One night, around midnight and 3:00 am a group of women staying in the suite next to us were yelling down the hall but all we had to do was close the bedroom door and it was very quiet. This is a definite plus vs. a regular room in Vegas.

We ate at Border Grill at Mandalay Bay for my husband's birthday; the food and service were great and prices are very reasonable for Las Vegas. Eat outside if possible, very relaxing atmosphere. Try the Tres Leches for dessert, awesome.

Great with teens

THEhotel at Mandalay Bay is an excellent choice for a family with older kids. Often family friendly hotel recommendations appeal to much younger families. I have three 14 and 15 year old boys who were wowed by the place. They treated us like high rollers evn though obviously we couldn't use the casino and drop serious money there. The suite style room with 3 TV's (living room, bedroom, and yes the bathroom) is their standard offering. This room also has a 1/2 bath off the living room, so I claimed that one and made the boys share the large bath off the bedroom. Ask for a high floor looking North and the entire Las Vegas strip will lie outside your floor to ceiling windows. Pool area is immense with a Lazy River that should be called the Crazy River, and there is a wave pool and 3 other lagoon pools. Not overrun with little children, it was OK for the boys to act their age without fear of crushing a toddler. Tons of restaurant options in the Mandalay Bay development. House of Blues restaurant has a good coolness factor for teens and their prices were rather reasonable. When we were there they offered breakfast half-price if you went back the day after you had dinner, very good deal. Also great Burger Bar with hand-made shakes in Mandalay Place, and a food court for quick meals. The location was fine for us, but it is all the way on the South end of the Strip. The boys are big enough to carry their own stuff and go out for the day with me using the tram (free) and monorail(pay), but if you were with younger kids and needed to tote lots of stuff, or could only manage short excursions, you might prefer to be in the middle of the Strip. Got a great rate during the week in July, cheaper than I could stay at my local Holiday Inn in suburban Chicago. Will definitely stay again.
