Great room at a reasonable rate

We really enjoyed our room at THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. The tram is free and takes you to the heart of the strip via Excaliber Hotel and New York, New York. We were disappointed with the limited pool hours but this was by far the best room we have ever had in LV.

I would recommend taking the tram Excaliber Hotel and walking to New York New York for reasonable dining costs as the Mandalay Bay restaurants were way overpriced.

THEchristmas @ Mandalay Bay

Having stayed at the Mandalay Bay before, I decided to reserve a suite at THEhotel. I was impressed with the quality construction and detail. The rooms were appointed with style in mind. As with most hotels on the strip there are many bars and dining choses within a short walk. THEhotel is not a gaming resort, though it is attached to the Mandalay Bay which does have a casino with all slot and gaming table options. THEspa, located on the second floor of the hotel has a full spa and outstanding fitness room that will meet even the most ardent gym rats needs.

THEcafe at Mandalay was open breakfast and lunch. The menu had excellent selections and quality. The prices were relatively standard resort fare. They have a store that is open 24 hours that has anything you may have forgotten or have an urge for.

Quiet and nice

If you're looking for quiet, this is a great place. The suite was really nice. Valet was not as convenient. If anything, for me maybe it was a little too quiet.

The Hotel at Mandalay Bay

Gym was nice but the additional charge to use it (unless you wanted ONLY cardiovascular exercise) is not something that I expect frrom a hotel of this calibur. One drain in the larger bathroom did not functiona well. The television in the living area did not work at all. That said, the layout was beautiful and roomy.

Gorgeous room - great facility

Our room at THEhotel was the nicest room I've ever stayed in. The pool area at Mandalay Bay is the best on the strip. But be prepared to pay for extras (no surprise this is Vegas - such as $22 to purchase a tube to ride the Lazy River. Room was not as clean as I would have expected. there was dust in the bathroom on the mirrired ledges and a couple of chunks of what I assume was dry dog food left on the carpet on the carpet in the bedroom. But it's huge suite, so maybe they can't get to everything...

Have breakfast at the coffee shop on the main level of THEhotel. Prices were reasonable and we were able to save extra money and calories for later in the day.

Great Spot

The stay, while pretty expensive, was a great way to experience Vegas for the first time. As a student, I would probably stay at a cheaper place were I doing the trip over just because most of the tables had higher minimums than I was looking for, however it was still a wonderful experience.

A winderful hotel

This was our fourth stay at TheHotel and if anything the place is better than before. Oftentimes, hotels can start to slip in quality, but TheHotel is looking good and still one of the best hept secrets in Las Vegas. As usual, the best staff* in town and the suites are kept very nice. The location off to the side of Mandalay Bay is great and quiet but with all of the action you want just steps away in the casino. We love this place and the price is right for the quality living space you get. *Friendliest most polished staff on the Strip is great, but still they are seriously understaffed at this hotel. Check-in continues to take way too long and just getting through to the operator can take awhile. Just a few more people on staff and TheHotel will have it made.

Lupo for amazing Italian food. The pools at Mandalay Bay. Easy self park on second floor of garage and use elevator to get right in front of hotel door. Huge shortcut from TheHotel to Mandalay pools. Go out front door past valet to Mandalay side entrance. Walk past Red, White and Blue restaurant make right and follow to pool. This saves you about fifteen minutes of walking.

BED BUGS!!!! BEWARE!!!!

I would like to start out by saying the Hotel property itself is impressive, the rooms have an amazing view and are spacious, and the bathrooms large and beautiful. However, my experience was terrible from checking in, to checking out. We arrived excited as it was our first time in Vegas. The attitude at the desk was less than impressive and seemed like they'd rather be ANYWHERE else than welcoming guests. Next, we had ordered a room a month in advance with 2 queen beds and they had us booked into a room with a king bed. They were somewhat apologetic about this and offered us a 75$ credit for room service as they were sold out and unable to accommodate us. Fine. We were only there for 2 nights, and when we got home, both my friend and I who had to share the king sized bed, both had BITES all over our backs. This place has BED BUGS! and when i called to speak to a manager about this, (Paul, btw), he seemed like he had heard this a hundred times and could care less. He said that they would "check into it" and when I asked what would happen then, he said, "We'll just see." Obviously, I never heard back. I'm telling you, we paid 780$$ for 2 nights in this hotel and were treated badly, had our reservation screwed up with little apology, and contracted BED BUGS!!!!! I could stay at a 5 Star resort for the same money and have less problems. if you stay at this hotel, CHECK THE BED FIRST!!!!!
