The Stratosphere Casino Hotel and Tower is often the first glimpse travelers get of the vibrant city of Las Vegas, since it can be seen clearly not only from McCarran International Airport (LAS), but from the seclusion of Red Rock Canyon some 20 miles away. Stay at 'The Strat' for an 80,000-square-foot casino, complete with a wide range of table games and video slots, a revolving restaurant, adrenaline-pumping thrill rides and a wedding chapel for the rapturously impulsive.  And whether it's dining at Zagat-rated restaurants, taking a dip in the crystal clear pools, or even shopping at the on-site magic store with dreams of emulating Las Vegas' magicians Penn & Teller, no traveler could get bored in this mini metropolis.

Neighborhood
Situated roughly halfway between the hustle and bustle of 'new' Vegas, with state-of-the-art complexes such as CityCenter, and classic 'old' Vegas - the city from the Bugsy Siegel era - the Stratosphere provides guests with the best of both worlds. Mix the glamor of 'The Strip' with the old-time romance of Fremont Street, and witness an amazing, overhead, free light show occurring every evening.
Hints and tips
Stratosphere's Air Bar is currently the highest bar in the city - at 800 feet - and offers views across the infamous Vegas skyline, but you will require a reservation, because access can be tricky on busy nights. If a rebellious alternative is more your thing, why not simply drop down just one floor to the Level 107 Lounge? Enjoy the same vista over 'bright light city' without the crowds.
Policies and Fees

The property charges a Resort Fee of $17.99 USD plus 12% tax per room, per night for a total of $20.15 USD. Amenities include unlimited admission for up to 4 guests per room to the Stratosphere Tower's indoor and outdoor observation decks, use of the fitness centre and seasonal pool and parking (valet or covered self-park available).

This is not a comprehensive list of fees. Any amounts listed above may not include taxes and are subject to change.

Could do better...

Hotel was cheap and cheerful not the best location it's in a run down part of Las Vegas although bus links are really good and we arrived coincidently on the Black Friday sales which was a positive. Didn't spend much time in the casino downstairs but would recommend recommend spending the extra money and go for a hotel on The Vegas strip.

Good hotel. Location not so good.

The only problem is that it is quite north on the strip. You will have to use a bus to come down to the main strip area. Otherwise it is a good hotel - the cleanliness is good, it is relatively cheaper to stay here and you get complimentary entry to the tower.

Bring you walking shoes!

Everyone knows that The Stratospher is one of the more affordable hotels on the strip. That's because it's at the very end of the strip. Have money for cabs or be ready to walk a long ways to get down to the busy parts if that what you're looking for. The hotel is great other than the location.

Good value but dirty rooms and property

We received the room at a great rate and were pleased with the value; however found it to be unclean. We arrived to find dishes littering the halls and directly in front of our door. We also found a pair of men's underwear in with the towels in the bathroom on our second day. The floor in both the room and hallway needed cleaned as did the shower. Overall it did not appear clean, but was modern and spacious. The pool area is large and very nice; however winter hours are 10-5 and they lock the doors. You can't even access the hot tub in the evening. The tower is included in the guest price which is a great amenity and valued at $20 per person. You can take 4 people per room key free into the tower. The Stratosphere is very far down the strip- if you stay here plan to rent a car. But it is easy to access in and out, has free parking and is ca close jump to the highway.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

Head to the SLS casino and eat at Griddle Cafe for breakfast. The portions are enormous (so share) and breakfast is $7-$15. The French toast is huge and the best I've ever tasted!! The caballero breakfast burrito was excellent as well!!
